Does anyone elses moonroof making a rubber rubbing noise when going over slight bumps? It is really only noticable when the shade is pushed back. I think I read this somewhere that they make some kind of a kit for this problem... shouldn't Acura make the best moonroofs as EVERY single car they ever made has one?

 

I ran a search on "moonroof squeak" and found 36 threads on this very topic. This is a very common complaint. You can read about it here.

In the future, please try and do a search first before posting a topic (this is true of any forum, not just ours). It took me all of 15 seconds to get all that information above, and it would have saved you the time of waiting for someone to reply.

 

Acura's well aware of the problem... head to the dealer and have them install noise reduction tape under warranty.

 

ultra super common problem on the TL. They just put teflon tape on it I think. Or they use some kind of silicone grease for the rubber.

 

im bringing mine in on the 1st of august for its first oil change and the sunroof, ya if the shade is pushed back its awfull

 

It is sooooo annoying!! I am really getting discouraged with the quality of the car... my Onstar and navi voice doesn't work either. We'll see how long this car will last.

Don't worry about it...I had the same thing...like many others...but I just got it fixed today and the TL is sooo much quieter now. It's a very small problem (along with the seat belt squeak) and you shouldn't conclude the quality of the car to be bad because of it. Anyways, enjoy your car!!
