Missing Bump Stop

I had my airbag recalled last month at the dealership and they stated that I was missing a bump stop on front strut.

Since then I began experiencing front end shimmy on rough freeway sections.

Can I replace the bump stop by going through the strut bolt without messing with the spring?

on my 3G TL the bump stops are these little foam "stoppers"

when i switched springs, I forgot to install the bump stop.
instead of breaking down the spring and shock combo, i sliced the bump stop down one edge and squeezed it through the springs as almost like a sleeve around the shock shaft.

does that make sense?

The bump stop isnt causing your front end shimmy on rough roads. You should look into your ball joints, shocks to see if they are worn out, alignment.

Replaced Lower Ball Joints, checked balancing, and had an alignment. Shocks seem rock solid firm.
Checked brake caliper (no leaks). relubed pins. Will check upper ball joints and wheel bearings next.
