Miles Per Gallon
I just took home my 2002 TL-S and after 500 miles, I am getting about 25 mpg on the highway and 15-17 mpg in the city. I haven't been driving fast or against the wind, and I am concerned. The sticker showed 19 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway. Has anyone else experienced low gas milage.

Yeah, give it some time... I'm at 7100 and I'm still seeing a climb in my city miles (99% of my driving). After doing the first service at 7000 (I tried to wait until the recommended 7500, but the 6 months came first). At that service I had the car changed to Mobile 1 and I can tell you that after 2 weeks I started to see better gas mileage, so you may not see all the improvements in the MPG's until after you do the 7500 first oil change and get the break-in oil out.

My numbers
I've done a lot of driving the last few weeks, all superhighway, but with very different loads.
My best mileage, over 400 miles, was almost 32 MPG. That was with me and about a dozen CDs in the car, temperature around 90, going west to east (maybe a slight tailwind?).
Doing the same drive in the other direction with a bikerack and 1 bike on the tail, one bag (20 lbs?) in the trunk, and 70 degrees, and my mileage dropped to a hair under 30 MPG.
Finally, doing the same drive again (west to east) with two passengers, a couple hundred pounds of luggage, 2 bikes on the rack, and another very hot day, and my mileage dropped to around just under 27 MPG.
I was paying special attention because we just switched from 87 to 93 octance gas, and I wanted to see if mileage went up. It did! But the effects of weight and drag were interesting to observe.

With 52,000 miles on my 2000 TL, I'm getting 420mi/13.6 gallons (31 mpg) on pure highway driving (and that's even getting my foot into it on occasion!). I get about 330mi/13.6gal in mixed driving (60% highway/40 city). Those are all for 93 octane BP. With 87 octane, it drops by 15%.

you're doing AWESOME compared to me... I'm rough on the car though.
I'm sure people are sick of seeing this, but click here to see what I mean
