Miles on Full Tank
I wanted to know how many miles you guys are getting on a full tank of gas. I know there are alot of factors to consider such as city or highway driving. I do a combination of both. In any case just having a few numbers put in I should be able to get a average of what is considered "normal". Currently im getting 240-260 miles on a full tank of gas.

Lately, it seems my car's fuel light comes on when there should still be 5 gallons left. ????
But I have driven over 400 miles on a tank before.
After seafoam, new tires, plugs, etc, I did a highway trip getting 33+ mpg.

Here is a link to a poll, showing most members use 91/93 octane.

I noted the car gets proportionally better mileage than the increased cost,
and 91/93 is all I've run since.

the low light comes on at ~3 gallons remaining, with approx 2.5 to 2.7 of that able to be picked up and used (based on most I ever put in-tank stated capacity 17.3)
So its fine to run till the light plus another 30 miles, no sweat.. and have some left in the tank
the guage goes a few clicks below empty before it really is empty
IMO-anything under 300 miles mixed driving till the low fuel light-
is cause for a plug ck, seafoam, clean TB, ck air filter, tire pressures, and learn the fuel saving driving tips for in town

My car was doing really good on gas until my tranny gave then i was doing 220 on full tank. I had my tranny rebuild this year and now im getting 250ish.
I've been doing some research and they say to retune your car. Is it safe to do that?

I want to join this also
I have the exact same driving for the past 4 years of 40 mile round trip for work with about 18 miles total on the highway.
always fill up at about 330 miles and average anywhere from 22 (winter gas) - 23.8mpg

that seems realistic. when i had my scangauge installed on the TL i was getting 33mpg highway when i was trying really hard, with pulse and glide, ride at highest ignition timing and 40 psi tires etc. But then i now i have the scangauge setup on another car, without it i have no guidance and so i get crappy 18 mpg combined. if you want good MPG this is a good device for it. it used to show me brake horsepower, instant mpg, rate of fuel burnt per hour, ignition timing, etc.

I drive a good mixture of highway/city, and I also do a lot of driving, but I normally do 260-280.
I do around 280+ when I drive around with the light on or at least really close to the light turning on. When I do 260-280 is when I'm like 2-3 clicks above E.

I get around 270ish though... But every gas station i've been to down here in New Orleans has Ethanol in it.... =( I wish I could find a station with no ethanol, then i'd probably get optimal MPG
I need to find that station!

I just refilled from a costco that sells gas @ $3.75. which is really cheap in Detroit suburbs. And I got about 380. and i drive really conservative. I feel like im doing something wrong but I have seen the other threads and seems like im doing everything ok

I've done all of that, but still need to do my second treatment of seafoam.

Resetting the ECU won't hurt in the long-term; give it a shot. It'll just relearn.
I've been tracking mileage on mu iPhone as well (very spirited driving):
Average MPG: 25.62
Maximum MPG: 30.12
Minimum MPG: 21.75
Most weeks I go 365+ miles before a fill-up near empty.

My TL-S with 156k use to get 230-240 before the gas light turns on. I also had idle problems, but after I changed out the IACV (or my mechanic called it the solenoid) I got 170.. Hopefully this tank of gas gets better. I drive mostly city with probably less than 50 miles highway..

I do pretty much all city driving with a very heavy foot since im always in a rush to get to class or work and I get at least 250 miles out of a tank and average about 21-24mpg. When I take it out on the highway I know for sure I could get 400 or maybe even 450 miles out of it not riding on the light much.
