Any mechanic can do it, it doesnt have to be a dealer. Its not rocket science. Ask around to see who people bring their cars to

I hit 100k just last week. I've already done all the normal 105K maintenance. Had its transmission replaced at 60K. My TL-S still drives great, looks great and gets compliments all the time. It's also paid off - it's really nice to have a great looking, great running car and no payments!

My last Acura was a 1989 Integra that 186K in 9 years when I traded it in for a truck. It would have easily doubled that mileage.

Any mechanic? I would def. be more comfortable taking it to somebody I knew or was recommended by somebody who had a favorable experience. If they had Honda/Acura experience that's better.

Dude thanks for this site, im going to check it out when i get a chance and see if i can get a quote from them. I'm sure with the cheaper price i can convince my dad. For the 105k service what am i looking at other than the timing belt/water pump?

Why do you think i added "ask around"
Do you really think this is a job that a certified mechanic cant do? Its not hard. Any certified mechanic (competent) can do this job. Acuras arent a special car that requires special mechanics.

Well, its just good to know, ive had some bad experiences. My dad took our car to firestone to get our engine mount changed/fixed forgot. But anyway when we got the car back the power steering was messed up and whenever u turned the wheel it made this loud whining noise. Firestone said it wasnt them and that our rack/pinion is messed up and needs to be replaced. They brought an inspector to see if it was Firestone's fault for that noise and he said it wasn't. My dad was all pissed off and just took our car to the dealer and apparently they forgot to put a peice back on the powersteering hose or something like that, so they put it on for us.

No, I never said I thought it was a job a certified mechanic could not do.
