Might be getting an 03 TL :)

My father's a dealer, and he has a very nice 03 TL on his lot in that dark greyish color. About 40k miles. I'm almost certain I'm going to be buying it from him, I can get it for about 12,500 with tax and registration included. It's in perfect condition, loaded, with the Bose system which I think sounds incredible, drives like a dream. I'm about 99% sure I'm going to be buying this car, so I wanted to say hi, cause I'll probably be spending some time around here in the near future.

Good luck with it and make sure the car has a clean title too for the transmission warranty.

Welcome, good luck on your purchase. Ima tell you right now, use the search bar on a topic you think people already discussed ( EX: Tints, Offset, Headers, Intake, Etc.. ), before you'll get pounded with "use the search bar". Other than that, feel free to ask questions. Take it easy!!

Ya, thanks for the tip. I've done my share of forum browsing, so I know how irritated people (and mods) get with overdone topics. I'll make sure to use and overuse that search feature, heh.

The car does have a clean title, and it's in perfect condition at the moment. We checked all of that out before I considered purchasing it. Now it's just a matter of making the final decision as to whether I want to spend that money on a car, which I probably do, so I'll see you all around

Ya, well I just keep getting more and more interested. I'm a big Honda/Acura fan, I love everything about the car, and it's a good deal. Not much more I could ask for. At this point I'm pretty certain about buying the car, just have to get the financing and it'll be mine

You might want to check with Acura to see if that particular 2003 TL is covered by the 7 year/100,000 mile extended warranty on the transmission. Not all 2003 TLs are covered and that coverage depends on the VIN number. (FWIW, all of the 1999-2002 TLs are covered.)

Since you've been reading the forums you probably know that there are some reliability problems with the transmissions.

Sounds like damn good deal. I paid $21K for 35K mile 03 TL.

May be its just coz your Dad is a dealer.

Now I know how much do these car dealers make out of every preowned certified car they sell.....close to $10K

i wouldnt say 10k, but they do make some money on them, since my buddy has a dealer license i was lookn through an auction book, its really surprising what some cars for, i cant speak for the condition of the cars, but i was pretty amazed.

I paid $19.2k for 33.5k mile 03 TL. I tried to get him down to $17.5k (as was quoted by Edmunds.com), but he wouldn't budge.
