Question In the middle of clearing my headlights, need some help

Ok, got the headlights apart, and Im trying to scrape off all of the original silicone before I re-seal them. Whats the best way to do this ? Ive been using a razor and a flat-head on the dried stuff, and its not working so well. Should I re-heat the old silicone to remove it ?

re-heat the old silicone and try to remove with a flat head screwdriver. but the screw driver will be full of the silicone.

Yeah, just heat up the old Honda Bond and use a flat head screwdriver to remove the old adhesive, then quickly take it off the screwdriver and throw it away.

Once you get 'em open, be careful not to touch the chrome reflector housing! You'll get fingerprints on 'em, you might crack the housing, and a number of other potential catastrophies! So be careful!

Use latex gloves if need be.

I don't removed the original silicone, because I couldn't find an equal or better replacement. I just make sure all the original silicone stays in place, so when I put the case back together it goes back perfect and you can't hardly tell it was ever open. So I would suggest re-heat the original silicone and if you want add clear adhesive silicone on the outside after the casing is close.
