Anybody here thinks that the rear end of the last generation Mazda 626 looks like the rear end of the '02-'03 TL?

Yeah it does, except for the bulging tail lights, the license plate in the trunk lid and that huge Mazda emblem. Other than that they look totally the same.

And I'll post it before someone tries this groaner:

I recall I was driving behind a Mazda 626 on the highway awhile back and from a distance, I thought it was an '02-'03 TL because of the shape of the tailights and the fact that they are clear up top and red on the bottom. From a distance, you don't really notice the 626's tailights bulging out. Took me like 3 seconds to realize that it is a Mazda 626 because its rear license plate is up top. Had me fooled though.

deity said it best...about the only thing that resembles a TL is the coloring of the tail lights on the 626...everything else is quite different

IMO I'd say the older generation 5 series tail lights (530/ 540).
