This may be a dumb question...

I have a 2000 TL with 86k on it, am i still qualified to get a loaner from the delaership even though I am out of the 50k 5 year warranty? I'm worried about this "Clunk" I hear going from park to reverse...

Yes, you are! I had tranny replaced at 68.5K in my 2000 TLP and had a loaner.

HAHAHA!!! COOL! mlionel, what did you get? I'm hoping for either a RSX or TSX...something with a stick...preferably something weaker than my TL so when I go back i can feel better...as opposed to getting say, a new TL...and driving home with 45 less horsepower and no navi...

I also have a 98 Tl with 96,000 miles and they gave me a TSX as a loaner when I got my 90,000 mile maintenance.

I'd take ANY Acura instead of Taurus. On the other hand, it was a real pleasure to get my TL back!

I went in for some small trivial thing, and the advisor told me, "Enterprise is on the way, that clunk into reverse will lead to failure, we're going to replace tranny". Actually happened. I'd get a second opinion.

Ya i m wondering the samething, all the freaking car rental companies refuse to lend me out their prised possetions coz um under 25 . But if the dealership gives out something from their own yard it wont matter that i m under 25, or would it ? coz i have had a loaner once before from Nissan, they never said that i cant have one since um under 25. Oh well, i agree on the fact that anything is better than nothing, and i would take any kinda loaner just to have the peace of mind knowing that i wont have any tranny problems with my TL

I'm 24 and I haven't had a problem getting a loaner even when I was 23. However, that said ... I know Acura does have some sortof age restriction on loaners. I don't know how old you need to be, but I think over 18 is definitely a requirement because I recall some RSX owners were complaining that they couldn't get loaners.

I get an acura loaner every time, I've had an RSX, TSX and TL-P. No manuals though, all automatics. Also - I have to sign a rental agreement each time which makes me think you have to meet your state's rules for rental cars. I am 27 so no prob.
