I was checking the IS300.net for a friend of mine and those guys are crazy. Their all piss off because most hondas have the altezza lights. They refer to the cars as "RiceRockets" and the owners as "RiceBoys". I say so what if they have your lights, not every one has 36K to spent on a car. It should be a honor because they like the lights, so that's why they have them. Most of my friends drive these so call "ricerocket", but I'm cool with that.

Personally, I don't like the look of the Altezzas very much. IMO they don't blend in with the cars.. Maybe certian colors look ok but I hate to see a nice car with them on it.

I don't think any reasonable minded car enthusist would mistake an IS300 for a civic.

I can't stand them either.... All Lexus really did was take what Chevy did with their new Impala and just clear them somewhat.... I can't stand any of them. Personally I think Lexus could have come up with something better.

Yes, IS300 drivers are quite bitter. I wonder if they might start modding their lights to look like stock Civic ones. That should be amusing.

I see a lot of cars (mainly Civics) with the Altezza style lights, but that's cause I'm in SoCali. I didn't know that TX had such a rice rocket problem too.

I think a lot of the guys here have a chip on their shoulder about the IS300 crowd. But I have to admit, the IS is not built on a corolla platform as it is in fact a rear drive car. I am quite sure that the TL is in fact a stretched accord platform. Does that make the TL a worthless POS? Lexus makes a very good car. Dis on the owners not the cars, especially if you don't know anything about them.

 

I wouldn't spend that much on a car. Good deals can be had by all who shop appropriately.

All I want to say is that we are talking about CARS here, modes of transportation, things made out of metal and plastic. I know people with Accords and Corollas who would laugh their a$$es off reading all of this. They would think that Acura and Lexus owners are the most stuck up pieces of crap on the planet...and who knows, maybe they have a point in some cases. All I know is that the energy on this and other similar threads could be directed elsewhere, like 14.9's "My Mom is a hottie" thread in OT. Now that is some good reading. And BTW, I like all types of cars. I see a Lexus, BMW, or Vette and I say "Cool Car". How many of us actually see an IS300 (for example) when we are driving and say "I hate those cars, those pieces of..." Probably none of us.
