For those of you that race (be it street or strip), do you use the manual shifting, or SS mode for the quickest times?

Is there a performance gain to be had from using the manual shift (holding it in first longer, while SS, of course, automatically does the 1-2 shift)?

 

I have a 99 so when i race, i use the SS because it doesnt shift 1st to 2nd.

 

I keep mine in D3 auto and let the vehicle do the shifting for me.
TCS turned off.

I use the SS, I think it does something to the ECU so that the car is just a bit faster........
