Major Audio Problems - 2 amps 03TL-S
Hi everyone,
I have recently removed all of the factory stereo equipment and now have added the following
Pioneer 9800BT head unit
Infinity Kappa components (front and rear) 6.5in
2 JL 12W6'S
1 infinity reference 7541a 4 ch amp for the components
1 american bass VLF 100.1
1 1.2 farad cap
since it has been wired up i have terrible noise, another thing is that when i shut the sub output off in the head unit i still get sound which is reduced. Even when the balance is moved all the way to the front i still get sound in the rear.
I guess i am trying to figure out if RCA'S can bleed onto one another? i have 3 run together down the middle of the car from the head unit to the trunk.
we have even went as far as adding scoche noice supressors and no good. Last but not least the only culprit i can point the finger at is the components in which the installer wrapped the component wires arounf the 0 gauge power wire.
any advice would be appreciated because i cant decide wether to replace the RCA'S and re route the components or what to do.
if anyone has any good wire routing suggestions i would appreciate it. the power wire is on the left side by the door sill. the components are wired the same way. the fuse is 5 inches from the battery.
thanks for any advice !

well as long as you have your RCA wires away from your power wires you are fine - just make sure to keep them apart from each other in the truck also as much as possible. I have all 3 of my RCAs all together and my sound is clean.
Make sure your ground wires on your amps are not very long (less than a foot is best) and make sure they are tightly secured to BARE metal. Is your sub RCA actually on the sub output on the deck? if it is, you should be able to turn it off w/ no sound from the subs at all.
Just check all the connections and make sure everything it tight.
You can run your speaker and power wire together with no problem. I dont know why he wrapped them together though...

it's your head unit, though with the volume up it sounds great for the money, pioneers are notorious for having a lil whine noise even with the group loop isolators

could it be a problem that the factory amp is still connected although i am not using it? now that i think about it maybe its causing the ground problem. i am not using any factory speakers or wiring except for the wiring harness between the head unit and the car.
i am using rca's and amps to power the components. the head unit front and rear connections are taped off.

if the RCAs are not close to the power wires.. and the ground wires to your amps are not too long (1.5' or less).. there shouldnt be a problem unless your wires are messed up OR your headunit has a problem...
your best bet is to re-run every wire... isolating each of them... use a noise suppressor. then if all of that doesnt work... replace the headunit.

try this, ground the neg of all your RCA wires not the the part attached to the radio, the wires you run the signal with from the back of the HU to the body of the car(solder a wire to the outer ring of the wire). Pioneers do notoriously have preamp output whine. that trick had been known to work in some cases. Pioneer uses a very random internal grounding loop that is not terribly clean. good luck. also try regrounding the HU itself too in addition.
