Maintenance Estimated Cost Check?

Recently purchased a used 2000 TL, 136k miles.
Rebuilt transmission, was done last year.
Had it inspected before purchase, needed front and right side engine mount replacements, and a whole system coolant flush. I assumed a timing belt change was needed as well.
Brought it to a private owned shop yesterday to get them done, but our mechanic found a few things that should(?) be replaced alongside the timing belt.
Timing belt (acura belt) $350
Water pump (dealer quality pump) $215
T-belt idler $55 (parts only)
T belt tensioner $85 (parts only)
T belt tensioner adjuster $110 (parts only)
Two other belts $35, $25 (parts only)
----------------------------------------------------------
$875
camshaft oil seals $45 x 2
crankshaft oil seals $55 x 2
----------------------------------------------------------
$200
Front engine mount (acura brand) $260
Right side engine mount (acura brand) $160
-----------------------------------------------------------
$420
coolant flush $150
-------------------------------------------------------
$150
Do these prices seem about right? Just double checking, as I have never had this type of maintenance done before.
Did a quick check online, found a few of the parts listed for noticeably cheaper. Not exactly sure how total labor costs are calculated, but are the above prices fair?

The OEM timing belt supplier is probably gates or dayco... They run about 30$ on rockauto. Try to get all the parts separately and not from the dealer. I believe Rockauto has the whole timing belt kit (belt+pump+tensioner) at around 250$. Thats a huge saving right there. The mounts is something your gonna be doing often since the OEM ones give out. I replaced mine with some Beck/Arnley mounts from rock auto which ran me 100$ for both side and rear they seem to be good quality and maybe even made from the OEM supplier.
It's always a better choice to get the parts and then give them to your mechanic to install. The coolant flush seems reasonable and I would suggest doing it. Also take a look at the plugs have them replaced with NGK Platinums or Iridiums ONLY!!! The TL is very pick and anything else will give you a whole lotta trouble. Also look at the Tranny fluid have it serviced with DW-1 Acura fluid with the drain and fill method. Other than that your good to go!

the prices are dealer list plus 20 percent!!!
we get deals from acura dealers that sponser this site- so its free to us
they can be found in the Vendor list near top right of pages
One in santa rosa ca has the tbelt package for 295$!
Ck the ads in Black Market- Sponsored Sales for details of whats included and needed - as done at their shop normally (he removed the cam seals from the original deal, as few actually needed them)
cam seals, do if needed -meaning they leak now = rarely
crank seals--not heard of replacements needed with the 105 but always possible
is it leaking now?
If doing crank seal -install a BOMZ lightweight crank pulley 35$
it will bring the engine alive!
water pump job INCLUDES drain and refill coolant!!!
no flushing involved with the TL, has a rad and engine block drain, plus the opening when wp removed
Front mount $150 (special fluid filled vac boosted unit),,side mount $50 (normal rubber type)
those solid poly mounts aftermarket take the smooth out the the car
you need a different shop= that actually knows the acura TL
Has done this job many times
look in phone book for smaller ads- private shop- has honda acura listed as specialty
and KNOWS about the egr/manifold clogging problem
they should have suggested that, along with a valve adjustment at your mileage
sounds like ripoffs,,,overcharge parts,, and labor is funky
written up like it was entered in computor and things added--coolant flush 150!!!
when they have to drain it to change the water pump...shameful
all the tensioners and idler pullies, even the ac belt one and all the belts, should be done now= so there are 100 thousand trouble free miles ahead![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
spark plugs as mentioned
seafoam diy--2 cans, 1 in half a tank,,run down and refill
when at half tank again add 2nd can
thats super tune in a can~
Add 1/2 can to oil and drive 30 minutes then change
do that before a valve adjustment for best results on valve adjustment
if anyone cared about this car, it will have new spark plugs way before now
or barely be running and bad mpg
pull one and inspect,,a neighbor can help if you lack tools or experience
do some research, look in the regions section for ziners near you for suggested shops
or maybe a member can help you diy part of the work and let a shop do the major PITA stuff

The crank seal on the passenger end is easy to replace during tbelt change. But on the other end you have to remove the transmission to do it. You are looking at about $500 to replace just that seal. There is no way they will replace that seal for you without charging you for tranny removal & reinstall. Something is not right with these guys.

I think a service writer with zero knowledge of the TL started entering things in the computor- when it says ADD ONs---they clicked on everything possible to jack the price,
and didnt include things a true TL nut knows to do at this mileage
this is not the place to go
price should run 800-1200-1500 with every new thing you can do, thermostat-hoses etc
ck local honda dealers for specials on 105 service- they will often do the TL for same price,,major score ~400$
