maintenance

ok so my car is at about 105 000km and acura just called me in for 2 maintenances that are due on my ride. One of them is the oil change, atm oil change, air filter changes, brake fluid change, etc etc etc.....its 516$. the second one is the timing belt and its about the same price....i just wanna know what exactly what they do to the car for 1000$ and how much of it i can do myself......the first one im probably not gonna get done cause its basically filters and fluids and i can do that myself also....the second one im wondering if it needs to be done at acura or can i go elsewhere and pay less.....give me your opinions please and keep in mind that i doing about 15 000km max per year. (does the timing chain really need to be done now or can it wait)

If you're living in what Acura calls the "extreme" climates, then get the timing belt job done. If not, it's a little too early. Don't know the exact conversion, but 105k km is a lot less than 105k mi.

Check owners manual for the extreme climates.

ya im from quebec and we already have a freakin foot of damn snow on the ground its -15 and im riding on black 16inch rims and snow tires.....its a dark time for the Aspec....but as far as the timing belt goes does it need to be right now can it wait....whats the danger of waiting to long other then broken or bent valves......im asking all of these questions cause for the same price as these maintenances i can swap the motor.

i think 105000 km is somewhere around 65,000 miles or so

and as said above for the OP is from quebec, so yes the maintence scheadle (sp?) should be followed under the severe scheadle (sp?)
