Main't Req light came on

I just got my 03 Type-S just under 2 weeks ago with 44.5k miles on it. Since then I've hit 45+k miles and noticed the Main't Req light came on. Is this normal? Or should I be worried about something being wrong?

On a side note, there is also a rattle coming from my A/C unit when I turn it on. Any thoughts?

This is a quote from the member fsttyms1 - "The Maint required light is nothing more that a Dummy light. its supposed to be reset at every oil change and is a "just" a reminder to change your oil. its pre set from the factory for 75oo mile intervals. With the car OFF Press and hold the Trip and Reset buttons in and keep holding, then turn the key to the Run position (1 before it starts the car) and keep holding in the buttons till the maint req light turns off. it takes about 10 sec. just make sure you do it in the order described"

Next time you might want to try the Search function. This same question gets asked multiple times each month. It's also documented in your Owners Manual.

It'd help if you describe exactly where the rattle is coming from when you start the A/C. What's an A/C unit anyway? The compressor, something in the dash, something in the engine compartment, etc.

Yep, I shoulda used the search function, sorry about that, forget it's there.

I bought my tl-s used and it didn't come with the owners manual for some reason.

The A/C rattle is coming from the engine compartment, nothing visibly wrong after taking a cursory glance. I may run it back to the dealer and have them check it out.

Might want to open the hood and listen as someone else turns the AC on and off to see if you can locate the source of the noise.

To reset maintenance light:

I.) Press & hold RESET & SELECT buttons together,
II.) While you holding those 2 buttons, put the key in igition to II position(Don't start the car)
III.) Maintenance light will start blinking. Wait until the Maintenance light turns off and let go those buttons
IV.) Start the car and make sure it's off.
