Main body paint color does not match paint color on bumpers!
I detailed my car for the first time today and confirmed what I thought. The main body paint color (WDP) does not match the bumpers. The bumpers are a shade or two darker. They look a little beige. I took a digital photo and used software to see the "ingredients" that make up the color. They say they're different. Technology or not, my eyes don't lie, they are not a color match. Anyone else notice this? What color is your car? I'm going to stop by Acura tomorrow.

I've got the same problem on my Tafetta White CLS. Let me know what Acura has to say about yours....maybe we can get the bumpers repainted. Although I'd hate to break the factory paint.

I'm really sorry for you guys, but I'm surprized you didn't know about this before choosing white. I've read at least three or four different threads about this problem. Its why I never even considered WDP.
Have you spoken to Acura customer service about this? Is there anything they can do?

My WDP bumpers, weather strips (top) and side bolsters are all very very slightly off-color as compared to the main body as well. I'm willing to live with it. I just hope that it doesn't get progressively worse with time.

I noticed "the problem" on my 2000 TL the day I took delivery in July 2000. 10 months later I traded it in on the Type-S and they wouldn't give me anything for the car because the bumper didn't match. Actually, I got $24500 on the trade, I'm being facetious. I'm not happy with it either, but willing to live with it (obviously, I'm on my second WDP TL). I'd like to know what you're told though...
The Max with yellowing bumpers is because the paint wasn't UV stabilized. That isn't the case for the TLs.

It seems some are just have dirty bumper... and the rest, YES, you are NOT seeing things, but the bumper color is OFF!! The dealer I got my TLS from had 2 WDP TLS shipped to them last week... one is perfectly fine, and it look GREAT!!! While the other one's rear bumper color is TOTALLY OFF, as if the bumper has been repainted....
Also, I am not sure... maybe it's me seeing things, but the 2 WDP TLS color, even the body color, seems to be off a little?? The perfectly fine WDP has rich, pearl effect through out the whole body/bumper, while the other one looks just like normal white color...

It's just more noticeable on the WDP, but if you look closely (and have a trained eye for paint, like I do) you will see that the bumper paint does not match on ANY of the cars. This is because of the paint they use for the urethane bumpers. My GS400 was gold and the bumpers were not the same color. Most people would not notice it, but I did. It was an ever-so-slight difference. I did notice it on my WDP right away. The paint they use for the metal is different than the paint they use for the bumpers. Actually, I think it is an additive they use for the bumpers that keeps the paint flexible so if the bumper gets tweaked, the paint will not crack.

Mine looks uniform though... and so were the 2 Ethernal Blue TLS at dealer.... the other WDP is just perfect(color and body matches).... but give it some time, I wonder how well the paint on the bumper will age compare to the one used for body...
