Magnaflow Mufflers

I just got my Magnaflows installed yesterday, i havent gotten a chance to take pictures , i will do that today after i clean the ride up and post them, i love the sound, doesn't sound ricey at all.
I had him just install the mufflers and then come to find out it wasn't loud enough , so i had him cut out the resonator muffler and put a straight pipe there, sounds great!!

when i went to get my dunks installed there was a guy who had his magnaflo muffler installed on his IS300...looked good and sounded nice.

did you get the ones that look like the HKS Hiper, A'PEXi N1, and 5Zigen Fireball?

Stainless can...Magnaflo trying to get into the import market...cool.

Thanks for the props on my exhaust...the shop painted the y-pipe black, I didnt even have to ask...dont know the part number...cost $135 each muffler...the resonator is the muffler between the catalytic converter and the dual mufflers...the resonator helps quiet down the sound and really constricts the air flow out of the engine...what a difference with it off, sound and performance wise!!

TLLuver:

I have a couple questions:
1) how large is the diameter of the exhaust tips?
2) how is the fit? Does it stick out of your car? Or are the tips deep under the car (where the whole tip is under the car, and not sticking out?)
3) What's the model number since there are so many different MagnaFlow mufflers
4) Where'd you get it?

Thanks!

Aside from removing the pre-muffler (resonator) did any modifications have to be done to put them on?

I really like these and they are much more reasonably priced than the Comptech's.

The real question is - are they louder than Comptechs? Need an answer from someone who just replaced the stock mufflers with the Magnaflows.

Magnaflow vs. Comptech

Nate, I have heard the Comptech mufflers and they sound nice, but these Magnaflows sound much deeper and throatier...not louder, that would get annoying after a while. Anyway the Magnaflows are a hell of a lot nicer looking (mirror finish,4 inch tips, etc.) and not to mention less expensive then the Comptech mufflers. Also, I wanted a cat-back system...not a rear-section.

I gotta get some of these. Anyone know where to get these online for a good price?

Oh yeah, any word on whether they require any modifications or are just straight bolt-on?

Also, any feelings on whether they change power output at all (I know this is probably not noticeable, but I'm asking anyways).

These are the mufflers they do not bolt on at all...they must be welded to the y-pipe or you need to have a muffler shop build you an exhaust system and weld them...sorry if I gave you the wrong idea...I had the guy who put mine together make it so that I could take the system on and off at the cat if I ever needed...so mine is a bolt-on I guess.

Ah ha. Thanks for getting down to the nitty gritty for me TLluver.

I really like these and for 270$ you can't go wrong. I just have to check how much the install would be.

It really is amazing that these are less than 1/2 the price of the Comptech system and they appear to be every bit as high quality as the Comptech stuff.

They are not ricey sounding at all...if you want rice, I suggest getting dual 5zigen or greddy mufflers and welding those on. These emit a low, deep, throaty sound. I didnt buy them for the sound, I got them for performance...thats why I made a custom cat-back system. The whole cat-back system cost me $410.00 installed!!
