After 2yrs with my TL, i have decided to make the switch. My tranny was starting to act funny, and didnt want to deal with the headaches. Its a damn shame, because if not for the glass tranny's, i probably would've kept this car till it died.

I went out and purchased a 2003 6-speed Maxima. Although it doesnt feel as luxurious, and refined as the acura, it sure as hell leaves you with a smile on your face after going through all 6 gears with its 255HP engine. I have the SE model, and im still trying to get use to the stiff sport suspension.

Anyway, good luck to all you TL owners. It was fun, but now i have to switch forums. Take care.

Join the club man, I did the same ... sold my 03 TL-S, got an 04 Infiniti I35 ... and couldnt be happier, as a matter of fact, much much happier.

I suggest you join the maximaforums, great forums.

I was actually looking into getting an I35, but I came across the 03 max with 68k miles, and i only paid $7k. Couldnt pass up such a great deal.

Now that I got that sarcasm out of my system, I have to say congrats on a getting a new car! I was torn between an 02 Maxima SE and my TL when I was shopping around. At the end of the day, the bells and whistles are what got me into the Acura corner, but I gotta say the Maxima is a pretty fine machine and nissan sure as hell knows how to make an engine, dare I say even better than Honda does? Those things are torquey like an American car, just without the parts flying off when you floor it!

I personally prefer the G35/37 coupe, but i purchased the Maxima due to its combination of room, performance, and reliability. I have to say that its a pretty sweet machine, especially with the 6-speed manual tranny.

Driven a Z and scared the living you know what out of the sales lady (she had never been in one). My favorite quote from that ride is "STOP SIIIIIIGGGGGNNNNNN". right before I did a full on brake test. hahaha

Didn't like how high the tunnel was, though. my arms were kinda high when working the gears. My wife lacks about one foot of my height, so she would really be down in a hole. I would take a G coupe before a Z
