Question Macco Painters

Have you guys heard of the Maaco paint services? I saw some comercial they paint your WHOLE car for something like $200!!! Has anybody ever gotten this done??? I am not the original owner of my TL but I would like to see the paint restored to near perfectness!!

here is their site ----> http://www.maaco.com/
they have paint shops all over!!

I would like to get a body kit for my TL then get the whole car painted up real fresh!!! I love that new car, thick ass clear-coat look!! My car is black and the scratches and stuff show!! Also a friend puked out my back window(would have killed him if he had puked inside:yack: ) Anyway his damn puke ate a small part of my clear-coat off!!! I already informed him he's paying up around $50 for the "paint the car after graduation fund" (no i'm not in high-school )

Soooo, if you have gotten a car painted through any of these Maaco places speak up so we all know if $200 to paint your entire car is really a true deal or if it sucks ass with paint runs:wow: :wow:

$200 to paint the whole car? Well consider that Pete Rose was once one of their spokemen.

Maaco is like Earl Scheib. Sure they can paint your car for $200. But I wouldn't take the car out in the rain or in direct sunlight, or on days that end in the letter Y.

Please don't waste your money on them. Take the $200 and go to a really good detailing shop and have them buff out the clear coat. You'd be surprised how well that will look. They should also be able to fix the vomit spot for you.

NSXNEXT is right...don't waste your $$. Go to a reputable detail shop or even a body shop and have them wet sand your clearcoat then wax it. You will be amazed at the results.

Dude, in the car painting biz you definitely get what you pay for! Stick with the reputable paint shops and avoid the chains! You'll be happier in the long run.

Good luck!

still, that's not even close to what I charged to the customer for repainting 73 Mustang MACH 1 recently.

He wanted to paint the door jams too, but he paid more than 3G's on that......and took us more than 3 weeks to complete!!!

Complete paint -> pain in the @SS

We use to use Dupont but changed to PPG last year. The torners kind of little bit expensive compare to Dupont product, but I think PPG's better. But we're stilling using Dupont Nasson clear though.

Thanks for the answers guys!! I will probably do all the prep work on my own ONCE I GET A FREAKIN' BODY KIT!! until then i'm slowly saving for a paint job. I kind of figured that $200 to paint the while damn car was either gonna be a ****ty paintjob or cheap paint and your own prep work! I will save about $500 before I even think about a new paint job.

I think I will buff it and then clay it and put some nice meguiars wax on That will hold me off for a while!!

I wouldn't take my bicycle to get painted at maaco..You might as well get a can of spray paint, i'm sure that will be better than maaco..Just stick with reputable shops, and the price should been much more than $200 or else I would get suspicious.
