Josh, please tell me you are not actually DISCOURAGING this man from buying an M3.

That would be absurd. :wow:

Actually...buy both.

Comparing the TL to the M3 is like comparing...well...apples to oranges.

Why are you asking, anyway? Are you thinking of buying an M3?

Of course the M3 cost more to fix it up.

The parts and labor will cost more.

If you are talking about the new E46 M3, then I would have to say that the things you can do to the motor is pretty limited. If it's an E36 M3 US motor. Then you can easily Turbo or SC that engine. Way more parts out there for the Bimmer.

Now, if you are SERIOUSLY considering the M3, here is what I have to say.

A friend of mine who just got his M3, loves the car, but like many other friends of mine. They all seem to have some build quality problems. This guy got alignment problems since day one. Scratch on his Navi screen, and bababa.

Then you have to ask yourself if it's worth it.

Like I wanted the M3 for lone. But the fact is that I am not in a position to get one. The area that I live in ain't all that good. I don't have a garage to park in my little crib around my school.

And man even if it's an used S4 today I would cry when I see what happened to my car just, now.

There were a good 2cm thick ICE all around my car. Took me more time to clean it up then the time it took me to drive to Wendy's.

And finally can you really drive and enjoy the car. If you just want to pimp out, get a used Espirt or Porsche.

If you get the new M3, you don't have to fix it up. You'd toast just about any car in existence (0-60 in 5 seconds!!!). Cosmetically an M3 is unique. I see thousands of TL on the street however, its a rare and pleasant sight to see an M3. If you can afford it, it's a no-brainer.

a friend of mine has an e46 m3 convertible and the mods that can be done to it are very limited. as of now there are sway bars (like the car needs to handle any better), couple little engine mods that are supposed to come out soon, and a c/f front lip. the supercharger from dinan was just released and my friend contacted dinan to get a price on it. brace yourself: $35k. thats right, its absurd. 65k (what he paid) + 35k = just about enough to get a porsche 911 turbo new and def. enough to get a damn nice used one. imo, though, it would take all of the mods available for the tl, including sc, to make it compete with the m3. that thing hauls ass.
