low octane gas...
does any one here use 'normal/regular' gas in there car on a day to day basis?
Any problems?
I drove my previous car....a 97 STS on regular 87 octane for 3 years.........i never even knew it needed the good gas. -- But i never had any problems.
Apart from performance related issues...is there a 'danger' to use 87 octane in the TL/TLS?

There's no danger because the engine will adjust, but you will take a hit in performance AND in gas mileage. I tried using lower octane gas and my mileage went down a bit. It is actually more cost effective to use premium.

One member had a pinging problem. Some CLS owners I believe had the same problem. The problem was solved by going with higher octane gas.
However, the computer should compensate. Performance may be hurt, but compensation should be made.
However, the manual states what type of gas should be used, you should just stick to what the manual says.

You risk knocking and your ECU adjusting. I use high octane and still get a little pinging under load. I'm thinking of trying an octane boost to see if there is any difference. Fuel isn't regulated here in Oregon as it is in other states. Some states actually do random octane testing at the pump, not here you can run gatorade and call it 104 octane

Dude,
Whoa...you drove your Caddy for 3 years on the WRONG type of gas? Okaaaay....
Most cars usually put a nice little sticker on the gas tank flap or on the gas tank cap telling you what type of gas to put in the car.
