Low Idle on Warm Starts
Low Idle on Warm Starts
This has been posted before, but have yet to find the solution to the issue. Basically it goes like this. You park your car for a few minutes (maybe 5-10 minutes at a grocery store for example), come back to start the engine and the idle goes to 450-500 RPMs. Almost sounds as if the engine is going to stall. After about 20 seconds or so, the idle speed will increase to about 750 RPMs and everything is perfectly okay. Is there anything to prevent the idle from going so low on these warm starts? It almost sounds as if the computer is taking quite some time to adjust the speed to where it needs to be.
if you know what teh values should read, id try testing it. other wise maybe bring it to a parts store and see even if its not tripping the checkengine light to see if its giving a code?
idle problem solved
i believe after several months, the idle issue has been solved. dealer indicated that the idle was slightly out of adjustment. they adjusted the idle screw on the throttle body to bring it within spec.
