Low Beam Problem.....HELP!!!!

Ok, I thought that I just needed a new bulb for my headlight but it looks like it may be more serious than that. I had my homeboy carry my car to the dealership to get new bulbs and one of the guys in parts told him that the bulb may not be the problem. I'm not exactly sure what he said the problem was b/c my homie isnt the best in relaying messages when it comes to mechanical issues, but he said it would be about $700 to fix. My headlight initially gave off a pinkish color, then went to a high blue. Finally it flickered and went out completely. When cut the car off for a while and try it again, it'll work fine for a minute, then it blinks out again. Can someone please tell me what this may be and if it's covered in my warranty. I only have 85,000 miles and I'm good until 100K.

Do it your self, men.
Save money.
Switch the bulb to the other side.
If the bulb work, It's mean you need a new ballast.

These are special bulbs of course

Its not the ballast, gen2 cars are of the age to need bulbs and new brake calipers- change the taillight bulbs too- winter is coming!
ebay 85 pair stock type, dealer 165 EACH stock type -azine vendor excelerate has Kaixen 5000 or 6000k bulbs many of us are using now- what an improvement over OE!!!!!!!!
PM him for price- he has them in stock - about 150 for a pair

If you have an extended warranty- check it for the bulb coverage

ebay for stock ones- buy NEW only not used from there 85 per pair 4300k rated
For killer beams get the Kaixen 6000k from vendor Excelerate n the off topic link- sponsored sales 150 per pair - best thing for TL lights

if you cant send PMs yet, call 1-203-483-6100

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'll be contacting the vendor about those Kaisen bulbs. Since I'll be swapping the headlights out, any suggestions on replacement foglights?

the blue tint in the 6000s is more visual on the road for you- to oncoming drivers its not as bright a blue as projectors or german cars, though people do get out of the way more now!
They look white like other good headlights, not brown like ordinary lights

fog lights need low spectrum yellow like 3000 ask Josh- Excelerate what he has for them
You want to pick out the white lines on the road with them.
The original name for those markings was Fog Lines, back before there were center road markers- just black roads at night with no streetlights.
Now they use a special reflecto-paint on the road lines and signs- and the white stripes on semi trucks- those things light up with the 6ks

yikes man
always replace in pairs
Those of us with the kaixen 6000k are very happy and feel they are a serious upgrade over OE 4300s $150 pair shipped from azine vendor excelerate

The lights and brakes on my car are in a tie for fave and most useful mod.
Brakes stop the car well within the range of the headlights before- so I can see farther now....that means.....heheheheehe

there are other brands with 6k and 8k, unknown quality

The KAIXEN are known good solid performers.
I ~think~ the 5000k is very close to OE color
I KNOW the 6000k are the most amazing headlights I have ever had, and easy on my eyes!

Products I like, I tell others about- products I dont, well let me tell you about the gutter installer who thought he could get away with a crap leaf guard- on MY house of all places, that was today!!
Sorry dude, back up the ladder- tear all that garbage you installed out and put in what I asked for! NOW- or take your crap and get off my property -
Hey MAww, wheres them rock salt filled ot6 shells anyway ?
Or the garage door installer who was doing sub par work- called his boss and said you have 24 minutes to get off my property. The next guy came out- looked at what they had done and shook his head. Did it all correctly and charged me 300 less!!

I love the products listed in my sig and recommend them- or they wouldnt be there

6000k is bluer and less output IMO. Stick with OEM. If you want BRIGHTER, meaning more output, seeing more road. Get projectors with 4300k bulbs and it'll blow out 6000k D2R bulbs any day.

I like to use these pics to compare... 9300k pnp kit in reflector housing vrs 4300k S2000 Projectors.. I know you're wanting 6000k, but just a pic to get the jist of it. Although it's really close to the wall, you can already see the difference.. Imagine it far back, it covers a shit load of area.

9300k

4300k

well, ebay has 4300k phillips for 65 shipped. Projectors requires you to retro fit them in your headlights. Look up the DIY Retro Fit Headlights. I made lots of pics. Research buddy. S2000 projectors go for 320- 350 right now..depends how much you got.. TSX is also good and cheap, around 120

My Phillips 4300k, S2000 projectors..

ohh..and this is what my stock 4300k reflector looked like

Compare it to the wall shots with the 4300k reflector. See the difference some bomb ass projectors do to 4300k bulbs

I am telling you straight out- my 6000 Kaixens PUT WAY MORE LIGHT ON THE ROAD than the oe 4300- read their website about the rating system and decide

anyone who says otherwise doesnt own a set

Note: I am a huge fan of my brakes with the 2 piston calipers and now with the awesome lights- its the 2 best mods going

I have 5000K on my truck.
And I have 6000K on the fog light. (looks bluer)
5000K looks identical with the 4300k on the TL.

It depends on what you like to see by
OE color of light- 5000K
A brighter white with a light blue tint- 6000K

I "mistakenly" ordered the 6s and couldnt be happier with the result
IMO- they pick out road marking-signs- and the white stripes on semi trucks-like no light I have used before
I did not know the crosswalks all have reflecto paint

cant wait for a good fog to try them in
