When I bought my certified 2003 TL-P, I noticed that the console compartment cover/door had some play in it. By that, I mean that when it is closed and I push down on it, it will go down probably 3 MM. I pointed that out when buying it and the dealer said that it was a bad hinge that needed to be replaced. They replaced it, but it is exactly the way it was when I purchased the car.

It doesn't rattle when driving (I don't think ... I always have my arm on the thing), but It annoys me that it is loose to begin with, and that it makes noise when I do press on it. It seems that there is some play in the attachment mechanism between the top cover and the main compartmetn cover, as well as where they both lock onto the console itself.

Anyone else have this issue? If so, how did you fix it?

just take it apart and tighten some screws, but i think most are a little loose like that..

 

Mine is also that way, and the dealer replaced the armrest latches and it didn't fix it. It bugs me, too, and I wish I knew how to repair it!

 

mine just pops up when i go over bumps. I am going to make a clip out of a clothes hanger and jb weld it to the plastic. I'll take some pics when i do it probally sometime this week

 

the screws are loose, just tighten everything

 

try a new clip. i replaced mine and now it holds like a champ. it was like 7 bucks at the dealer

 

deal 7 bucks is cheaper then me trying to make a new hook. I'll order the parts tomorrow
