Looks like Tranny is Done

I've been noticing a "shudder" in the car when accelerating on the freeway from 45 through 75 MPH. Had 2 indie mechanics check out the issue.

Axles are fine
Wheels are true
Tires are fine
Balanced and aligned all wheels
Front end shows normal wear only

Both mechanics could barely feel the issue. One said maybe torque converter could be on way out.

Well tonight I get off freeway and I get VSA lights and check engine light. Shifting slightly hard into 1st to 2nd now.

Car going into mechanic tomorrow.

It's an 03 with 218k on the clock.

1st trans went at 65k in 06. 2nd trans went at 130k. I guess getting almost 90k out of this one is pretty good.

I just recently put new shocks and struts in and car handles like brand new. Engine is strong, burns zero oil.

Considering putting in the Odessey trans....thoughts?

Mike

whats it do at 25 and 35 mph light cruising throttle, then stand on it to the floor
and hold it down--trans should downshift into 2nd and launch the car forward
-into 3rd near redline and keep climbing

If it revs up like a manual trans car with bad clutch=you have bad automatic trans clutches!

certain accord trans work as replacement too

Took car in today....had codes for the following:

Torque converter clutch failure
VSA yaw rate sensor failure
Supply voltage failure
ECM / PCM relation failure

They are going to clear codes and continue diagnosis tomorrow, but i'm fairly confident its toast.
