Red face Looking into Mods

Hello All,
Yes I am a Newbie. Everyone has to begin somewhere. I guess I'll have to work at being a freak. I have been seriously looking into Modifying my TL's wheels, but I don't know anyone else who has a TL or anyone who could do it for me who I can trust. Anyone have advice on what to look for. The stock wheels and tires are the only thing I dislike about the car. Even the Audi A4 has 7 inch rims. Plus do I really need to look into springs for a 17x7 upgrade.

Adam,

Definitely get Comptech Sway Bars first. They're cheap and make a huge difference in handling. Get them installed @ Greenwich Acura. Speak to Peter in service. Great guy.

Good luck. If you go, tell him Danny with the Blue TL sent you.

When you get bigger rims, I recommend you lower your car. The fender gap becomes more visible (painfully) for some reason.

Holy $hit!!!!!!

Finally someone from Stamford that wants to upgrade their TL. Only took 5 months of waiting! I'm waiting until spring to begin my upgrades though (plus the thought of the TL Type-S is still wandering around in my head).

Welcome to the board Adam...

Very true, Peter is the best service guy I've EVER dealt with. Plus Greenwich Acura is a Comptech authorized service center so any work done there is 100% covered by warranty.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info. How much should the swaybars run. Will he do springs for me too.
I had a falling out with Rick in the sales dept. and I ended up buying my TL at Rallye on Long Island. Rick told me a couple years ago that I should not expect to bring my car for service. Since I went somewhere else to buy. Set of Grapes, huh? I have been going to Devan in Norwalk, but it's a little out of my way. I also don't think they are into Mods. Is Pete someone I could trust and give me the great service you guys get.

From what I've seen, Pete treats everybody very well. Just go in there to talk to him one day about what you want to do and form your own opinion though. You don't have to go there to do anything, but it can't hurt to meet him. I think you'll be happy there. I actually just hung up with him as I was reading your post. The other person there is named Dave and he's really cool too, although I would only deal with Peter for mods.

Cool

Cool. I work in Port Chester so I probably will give him a call. I wish I knew enough to do it by myself, but I don'treally have the tools or the place. Hope it doesn't break the bank. Got a girlfriend ya know.
