Anyone know what the thread is on the shift knob? I would like to try getting a friend make one and need to know the size of the threaded insert to buy.

Get something from Razo or Mugun. Most of them come with mutliple size liners with the package to fit different thread. I have Razo RA68 leather on my TL, fits like a charm with the mid size liner bundled within.

 

I think the thread size diameter is 8 mm.
