Looking for confirmation on fit... CL rear seats into a TL-S/TL

I fell in love with the CL rear seats when I saw then for the first time.. The glove box in the center is amazing.. plus I never have three people in the back seat..
I have done a search and I've found a couple of opinions, with no real confirmation.

I'm just curious if the CL seats are a direct swap with the TL's rear seats.. I've found 6 sets of these seats. One for $200, one for $250, and the rest have "call" for the prices. A few are in black and a few in tan..

I think this would be a nice mod for the spring.. a four seater TL-S...

here's a pic for those that haven't seen the CL rear seat.... dont tell me that doesn't look sick!!!

Ideas? suggestions? Please state if you have your information from FACT or opinion..... I appreciate the opinions, additionally I would love to hear from someone that has actually tired/done this

Thanks in Advance...
Patrick

Note: I just checked and they have 12 listing of CL front seats aswell, some in sets, some singles. The singles were listing for an avg of 250/per... not bad... $750 for four new seats..

It looks like it would be a sweet mod if it would work.

check in the cl forum if there are any local cl'ers who can help you out. that would be your best bet.

Comparing the 02 CL and 02 TL-S.

The TL would have an extra seatbelt, but the seatbelts are on the correct sides... both being on the outsides.

I may have to pick up, or custom make, a rear decklid if I want to hide the extra seatbelt...

You might notice the CL doesn't have the 9" sub.. I might find it tricky with the rear decklid..

extremetls, I'm hoping I can find someone in the CL forum that would help me out, maybe I'll find a rare circumstance where a CL driver got TL seats in the rear to make it a five seater (family puropses), highly unlikely but a possibility

It looks like the side and center bolts are a little different. Anyone in the area with CL just to match up the spots for the bolts?

It's probably best to just go to a meet and find a CL to measure and look over. Maybe if you buy em a beer, they'll let you play with some tools as well to check the mounting.

due to fitment?, they simple don't fit or look nice once they are installed? OR due to the mismatched mounting spots they won't fit? Because I can fabricate mounting spots for the CL seats and the rear glove box if that is the issue..

The seatbelts are the key saftey issue and their mounting spots will not be changed.

please help out here it sounds like you've tried this.. detailed advice would help.

Anything is possible. The seat back looks like you wouldn't have that modify it much if at all. You might have to deal with the rear deck a little bit. I can see an issue with the seat bottom though, in the CL the seat is surrounded by the interior panels, while in the TL you have the rear door, so the seat has a finished edge all around the seat. You'd have to go to an upholstery shop and have it redone, but then the $$$ would jump from there. It would look sick if you can get it to work!

don't know why can't get it any bigger, but you get the idea-

just my $.02

Why not just swap out the bottoms of the seats and the additional glovebox? Or do you want the tops of the CL seats?

yes that's true, but what i meant was that there isn't the notch cut out on the TL seats, that would have to be reworked or something. you could always use the CL backs and then cut up the bottoms to make room for the CL center console...?
