Looking to Buy used TL, Advice Please...

I'm a past Accord & Maxima owner looking to buy a 99-00 TL. Should I be looking for anything in particular regarding 'trouble spots' for certain years? I have heard some mention of tranny problems, but not sure what year was being talked about. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

I will sell you mine 99 tl Nighthawk black oem kit, wood wheel ,sidemarkers 41,000 trouble free miles . $21,000

If your gonna buy any tl just make sure the person you buy from has had all their service done and try and get a car still under the acura warranty.

You should consider buying 00 & up TL's. The model has side air bag, 5 sp tranny, & DVD version of Nav added. If you thinking about buying TL w/NAV, you should definately get 00 & up model. Good luck & hope can see you at this forum.

I agree w/songoku and try to get the 5-speed tranny. I also *highly* recommend getting the Type-S model. :p

Welcome to the family.

I'm fond of the 2001+, you get the really nice front lights w/fogs, and the updated tail lights too. I 'm glad I didn't spend the money on Type-S, bummpy ride, ugly gauges and head rest, dont much care for the perfferated leather seats either. Since I don't plan on racing my car, 225 bhp works real well for me.

Thanks for the input. I was leaning towards the 00 because of the updated tranny. Didn't see any responses mentioning tranny probs, so I'll assume it's not a frequent problem. Thanks again.

Smile

I was getting ready to jump on him also for this mistake.
We all know that the 99-01 TL don't have fogs on them.
I still think we should beat ACURA for that screw up. If the 99-01 did not need them then why did they put it on the 2002.

I still don't know why 99-01 TL has different front bumper than INSPIRE/SABER in Japan and 02-03 TL has same look.
