whats going on everyone...my recent passion for TL's has overwhelmed me. my friend has a 1998 3.2 TL and i love it more than my own car right now (1997 Crown VIctoria) my v-8 eats the gas but i still love it...anyway im in the market for a TL and i wanted eveyones opinion on what year and options to get...did they have a bad year or something like that..and is the type s worth the extra cash..just give me what u got....thanks in advance...

type s is definetly worth the extra cash, but if your on a budget, the tl-p is just as good.

The 98s are nice, but i would recommend the years after 1999, they have more horsepower, more features... disadvantage is fake leather and wood, but they feel the same. Plus, the 2000 - 2003s have the 5 spd Sportshift transmission, which may fail on you.
Ideally, you should wait for the 2004 TL with some 280 hp and 19 inch wheels.

 

Where did you get this data?

I have not yet read anything definite and the closest to definite I have read has no mention of HP and says 17" wheels.

 

19" Wheels i got the info from the Acura EXPRESSIONS magazine, and 280 hp... a significant rumour from around this board and the net.
