My TL-S came with Acura's locking lug nuts. The
steering wheel has always had a slight vibration,
especially at highway speed. The dealer rotated
and balanced my wheels several times, but the
vibration won't go away. My belief is that perhaps
Acura's locking lugs are a different weight from the
standard lugs, as thus cause an imbalance.
The dealer says no such thing, but what else could
it be? Anyone else have this prob?

Thanks Neil! Though I am also confused as to which ones to buy. I know I need to get either a cone or ball seat, depending on my rims...

But I'm not sure what the Gorilla model numbers mean. I'll have to call them up, unless Binh wants to do it first!

Hehe, let a New Yorker explain wheel locks:p
.
Nate, our car's use 12 X 1.5MM sized acorn style seats.
The "12" describes the stud length and the "1.5" describes the gap between the threads.
When I mounted my new rims on my ride back in February, I went out ordering and buying an assortment of wheel locks for my car.
With my set-up I right now, I do not have one lug that can be removed with a typical socket. Each wheel requires 4 different "keys" to remove and mount.
On the Gorilla locks, I chose their Gorilla Guard locks. This particular lock is the Gorilla brand's style of locks in that it has the external "spline's" that are staggered in odd positions so that a specific key is required to remove and mount. That's their regular style lock, which are even offered as the replacement for all 20 lug's with one key for all of them(called the system).
The nice thing about the Gorilla Guard's is that they feature a free spinning steel sleeve to help protect the lock from the sh1t the thieves use to attempt taking off the locks.
Here, this is Gorilla's pdf file for their catalog. This is the most thorough catalog of their products. When you view it, the model number for my locks are 61631 Gorilla Guard's 12 X 1.5MM.
Gorilla's PDF File Catalog;
http://www.gorilla-auto.com/pdfs/part2.pdf
For a more through site on application of what locks for what car, go to McGards. Their web site has allot more $$$'s put into it.
McGard's Main page;
http://www.mcgard.com/automotive/product.asp?page=27
While your there, check out McGards different locks too, it can't hurt.
The wheel locks that Acura offers (at least for the Type S...I'm sure it was the same for all 99-03) are much shorter then these locks and spline drives I have. When I tried to use OEM style 12X1.5MM McGard lock's on my stock TL-S rims, they stick out a little bit.
Stock Acura locks are too short for probably most aftermarket rims..(not sure but logical:p)
Now the locks causing a imbalance at our everyday speeds on public roads issue...IMO I doubt it. I'm figuring the stud's are located close enough to the center that it would require some speed to cause excessive imbalance. I have 3 locks that are each different and a pair of spline drives that are both the same, and I never felt any shimming/shaking/dancing going on. But I haven't 140 MPH either.
Nate, if you decide to go with a set of Gorilla's, call Gorilla and tell them you need a number for a local distributor. Then call the distributor and tell them you were referred to them by Gorilla and that you are having a hard time locating a shop/store that has them.
The distributor knew how many packages of 61631 they delivered and what not and gave me a number for a local tire shop that had them. I would of never guessed they would have stocked them. Go figure.
Another company even offer wheel locks that have a shock sensor/transceiver that sends a signal to a receiver which offers your typical ground signal to trip the alarm.
Good luck
