Lightbulb Light in dash board

Question: Is there any way to make the light in the instrument panel any brighter. Compared to some other cars, ours looks dim, or maybe my car has a problem. Does any one else have that problem or ever noticed any differences?

The instrument panel lights are adjustable, you know.

If you didn't know, try looking at your owner's manual.

If you have them turned up to their brightest, and they're still too dim, then you may have a problem.

Personally, I can't stand to have mine turned all the way up; they're just too bright at night.

Are you serious??

I think they are plenty bright. Matter of fact, I keep it down at the lowest setting.

Too bright on a dark road actually reduces your perceived depth of field as you glance up until your eyes readjust. This can lead to eye fatigue, and in certain circumstances, reduced response time.

Just like the f-stop on a camera (our iris in this case).

I leave mine at mid-level and cannot see the need to make them brighter.

I think that's bright enough for driving at night.

I always adjust the brightness of my dash light to be no brighter than the brightest light on the road. I've found that it reduces eye fatigue during night driving.

Now if the Navi would monitor the dash brightness and adjust its brightness automatically...

I agree. I leave mine at the brightest setting. The lighting is adequate, but I wish it could go a little brighter and whiter. The color seems slightly yellowish. I like the lighting on the 5th generation Maxima.
