i am doing the lexan fog light mod. And well i saw that a member here saying to get some GE HIGH TEMP. SILICON II. Well i went to home depot today and they did not have any. Where do you get this stuff? Shouldnt it be at the local hardware store?

you don't really *need* high temp silicone. it's nice but not required. the silicon on the housing shouldn't see too far above 100-120 degreesF at which rate you can use regular silicon since it is made for above ambient temperatures.

i used bathroom/household silicone on mine and have no issues. i will say though that the lenses did not curve exactly to the fog housings, the lenses had a slight radius to them, or maybe it was the housing. either way you may have to use a little extra silicone to fill the gap.

If you snap the stainless steel ring back over it while the silicone is drying.... It will hold the lense to the same curve as the housing. I used windsheild silicone. A bit runny but id worked awesome.

no, lexan shouldn't melt/deform from this kind of heat. my lenses have been perfectly fine. mine are showing a little condensation on the inside, but i am positive the housing is not entirely sealed. nothing major though.

I did the mr10 lexan fog mod about a month ago and just recently noticed some type of defect in the lexan but only directly in front of the bulb. Oh, I did upgrade the bulbs to Sylvania's Silverstars 9000 but they didn't effect the glass before I replaced them. So I have been watching very closely to tell if it weakens the lexan some kind of way.
