Question Level Line Out From Factory HU Question

Will the factory head unit's level line out sound good if I use a digital eq that has a 4v line out?

An installer told me that it wouldn't matter if I got an aftermarket radio that has a 4v pre out because, I have an equalizer that will do essentially the same thing.

I guess I'm confused... 3 senarios...

Factory HU----> Amps----> Aftermarket Speakers (probably sounds bad because of level line out)

Factory HU---> Digital EQ 4v ---> Amps---> Aftermarket Speakers ( Sounds Great 4v EQ?) I don't know.

Aftermarket HU 4v--> Digital EQ 4v----> Amps/Aft. Mkt. Speakers... I know sounds Great.... but will it sound the same as the second senario or just a little better?

If it's just a little better or the same, I want to keep my factory in and use blitzsafe.

Plz help me out if anyone has insight on this.

Jeremy

I know you really want to keep your factory HU, so just do option 2. Will still sound good, better than not using the Digital EQ, you just wont have as many options as if you use an aftermarket HU.

Groovy... I guess I'll try it out and let everyone know how it goes.

What options are you referring to? The EQ has tons of options... it's a processor/crossover/eq

Ya good point, the only thing holding you back is the frequency range that the factory HU provides...I mean you get a full 20-20k hz responce from a good aftermarket HU, I wonder what the range is from the stock HU? hmmmm, other than that, you will be fine with that nice EQ
