Post LEVEL 10 SHIFTRONIC MANUAL-AUTOMATIC

This is what I find at H-A.net

For people do not have sports shift.
This is what they sent me regarding products:
LEVEL 10 PERFORMANCE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM™
SHIFTRONIC MANUAL-AUTOMATIC
FOR EUROPEAN AND JAPANESE CARS & TRUCKS
Do you want to shift your automatic like a manual? Need to control torque converter lockup and shift firmness? Level 10 Performance has created the device that makes it happen: the PTS™ Shiftronic Shifter. It’s a plug-and-play module that mounts in the cockpit and links directly with your transmission computer harness to provide manual control of up and downshifts, shift pressure and converter lockup.

With the Level 10 PTS™ Shiftronic Manual-Automatic Shifter, Level 10 Performance can allow you to shift computer-controlled automatic European and Japanese cars and trucks like a manual. Once plugged in, you have the option to go to any gear you please, upshifting and downshifting when you want. The Shiftronic Manual-Automatic is great for drag racers, rally drivers and anyone who wants positive trans control. The controller also offers you the option of changing how hard the trans shifts, and allows the driver to lock the torque converter on deceleration for real engine braking—like a manual shift transmission. Because hundreds of applications are available, you should contact Level 10 or visit them at www.levelten.com for more information and to order your Shiftronic kit.

Level 10 Performance specializes in high-tech transmission performance. To find out more about Level 10 transmission improvements, contact Level 10, Dept. ___, 3670 Route 94, Hamburg, NJ 07419, or call: 973.827.1000, fax: 973.827.7846, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Visit their website at www.levelten.com. Convert Factory Shifts to Shiftronic Manual-Automatic™

Damn, with something like that, who needs a stick?

Do they have an application for the Honda/Acura V6 drivetrains?

sure, the sport shift is a great feature, but it is nowhere near the greatness of a real manual. Huge HP losses are realized because it is still an automatic. The only road car with a real "sport shifting" system is Ferrari. Their optional F1 transmission incorporates paddles on the steering wheels for instant shifting. From what i've read, the shifts are executed faster than a professional driver in a manual car. Downshifts are perfectly rev matched. There is no drivetrain loss because it is, essentially a REAL manual controlled by a computer (which our cars are most definitely not). Now, if honda came out with this kind of "sport shift" for the TLs, we would be going at least a full second faster 0-60. I'd still prefer a real manual though if i had a Ferrari.

From what Ive read only M. Schumacher can shift faster than a sequential system.

No..... Every car has drivetrain losses.... It should be equal to that of a manual car.

It will not be 5-6 K, actually, it is 1500. It is plug and play so you do not need pay extra labor fee. If it really works well, I will get one.

ROFLOL!!!!!!! OMG!!!! You must not know who schumacher is! He is the world's best track driver! No one living can beat him on the track! I think most sequential systems can shift in less than .25 seconds and schumi can beat that.

besides dale earnhardt (a hillbilly) drives a POS on a lame ass oval where you can only turn left. I don't watch those races, they're so gay.

Yeah and I'm sure that's why his vette took 4th overall and his teammate over the ENTIRE field of Protype GT1's (what? 11 second quarter miles times?) this past weekend in the 24 hours of Daytona. Riiiiight, I'm sure that has no correlation to skill. And before you say Daytona is a big left turn, they used the inside roadcourse with the backstrech straightaway.

I guess its not worth mentioning that its been the best race for the Corvette since whoever his name is in 1969 won whatever old skool race. I'm sure that's another pure coincidence....

well most of the course is an oval still anyway. And most of the races that dale races in are complete ovals. I bet most people cannot stand the lameness of watching those races.

actually i talked to them several months ago and i talked to ppl on the h-a board who have accord v6's. they will and can upgrade our tranny's.

torque convertor, recalibrate valve bodies, lighter and stronger axle's, limited slip ~ 3300 to 4100 dollars.

that's where my tax return check is going.

from what I remember, the ferrari systme employs a hydrolic clutch and the shifts are .2 or .25 seconds in "regular" mode and .15 in "sport" mode so unless schumaker can shift faster than .15, ferrari beats him

as far as the level10 thing - sounds cool .. but for that much money i wonder how many takers they'll have

Schumi is the world's best track driver. He is currently developing the Ferrari F60. According to Ferrari, he is the only one that can outshift the system.

About the whole ernheart(sp) thing, the world's best track driver's are in F1, PERIOD.

I was reading in March's Sport compact car that Level ten makes a billet torque converter for the Lexus group(IS,LS,GS,SC etc) which cuts the delay when you stomp on the gas, drops a second off your quarter, strengthens ur tranny and improves your fuel mileage, among other things....best of all it's a bolt in! When we gonna get that for our cars?
