LED strip lights for headlights

Hey guys, I was picking up some mesh for my grill and some oem paint to paint it when i saw these in the clearance bin...

they had a try me! button, and because i'm a sucker for try me! buttons I had to push it. It actually looked really awesome actually and since it was 4.99 I picked it up.

Now here's the problem, a) has anyone ever used these before? and b) I'm not much of an electrical guy. It includes 2 18inch strips and my goal was to put these inside the headlight under the low and high beams and hooked up to my parking lights.

what do you guys think? I'm usually the first one to say these things are "ricey" but these actually look pretty good

I'm going to be baking my headlights this weekend (want to clear them) and figured I could install them inside the light itself so it looks much better. Just need a type of wiring diagram so I can do it!

any help would be nice!

I'm going to say no, unless you have projector headlights and that's still a big stretch to make it look good. Our headlights don't have the shape to make it look good. If you do a search, someone did something like this and it didn't look nice.

i searched and whatnot but all the old pix aren't loading anymore.

i'll have to see what happens when i bake them. I mean they're only 5 bucks whats the worse that i lose right?

I'm a sucker for try me buttons too

Remember, you get what you pay for, and for $4.99 I would not be sticking these anywhere near a headlight.

^They're 6000k white.

yeah I know whatcha mean haha

they were originally 49.99 I think i saw them last season (spring) when I was getting some oem paint when they were brand new.

I want to eventually make some projectors so i'm not too worried about putting them in when i bake them, must just be some left overs.

they had them in all sorts of colors last year but the only two they had left was amber and these 6000k white which just happens to be the HID color i use

the way i figure, these are extremely thin and have a clear film (not black connecting strip)

it's 18inches each strip so it should be plenty of space. If I start by the high beam and wrap them around the bottom of the housing and remove the amber reflector (after baking) and put in a brighter white turn signal bulb.

If i tap it into the the parking lights i'd have the low powered side markers and these bright, but not overbearing, leds on and of course the leds would be on while driving

6k white is nice. It all depends on how you shape the LEDs inside the headlights. I've seen some people put in LEDs on Camrys that look nice. And some on BMWs that look like garbage and outta place.

^Yeah same here. I'm not trying to get too fancy, after all we have pretty basic headlights...

I think the most important step is to clear out the headlights. If not, it will all blend together and look like crap. I have the mother polish ball and all the grits I need to get a nice good clean. There's some swirl marks that I would say on the inside which leads me too...

QUESTION

when I separate my housings during the baking process. I know not to touch the chrome reflectors but can I clean the plastic outer housing on the inside?

I'm also thinking of removing the chrome and going black, but that is highly illegal is it not?

and to finish the other thought, If I decide to black the housing, it'll probably look better...a lot less blending of light within the housing...

but while reflectors are obviously important for night time visibility, but are there any benefits for light output? I park my car in a private driveway or garage every night so i'm not worried about my car being seen, but I am obviously concerned about the light not being outputted as much.
