Question LED Bulbs - Nice or Rice??

I've noticed some sites that have LED replacement bulbs for sale and I was wondering if anyone has used them? If so, how well do they work and look?

I think they are pretty funky (meaning I like them a lot), and last a ZILLION times longer than an ordinary bulb. Only problem is you are VERY limited to colors at the moment.

No Tommy, he's not refering to the LEDs you have. These are LED bulbs...like your signal bulbs, but with about 10 or 12 leds on them.

if we put em in, don't we lose that blue effect we have when the lights are off?
i like how my middle light is clear, and my brights and signals are blue, when the lights are off... but i think the LED's do look kinda sweet... even on a TL...
ron, hook it up kid.

replacement bulbs might seem like a good idea, but in practice, they won't work. This is because the LEDs are focused so that most of the light goes out the end. This means the reflector won't get any light, and your lens will be lit in one round spot in the center. The best solution would be to replace the whole fixture, and to have an array of LED's the whole way across the surface. Look close at the Caddies, this is what they do.
