leather repair
Is the material missing at the tear site, or is it just a split in the leather surface? There is a repair solution you can use, called magic mender. Here's the website:

I guess it all depends if you're in a 2G vs 3G car (non perf. vs. perf leather). I believe the non perforated leather would be easier to repair.

You can call a "stitch man" who will come out and replace just that section. I remember in my old I30 before I got my 99, I had to have part of the drivers seat replaced after tore it by accident. It didn't match up exactly, but then again that was because it was sort of a fern/grey leather. If its parchment or ebony, they'll probably be able to fix it for you, and it wont cost you a fortune.

Take and hide the keys from your wife. Tell her next time use the trunk or put a blanket down
