leasing a new TL

Hi everyone. I have long been an Acura enthusiast and owner. After such tremendous satisfaction with my 89 Legend, I have decided to lease a new 3.2TL. Now, I am really not sure what I am getting myself into here price-wise. I was wondering if some of you could share what kind of lease situations you have with your TL (terms, # of years, monthly pymt., down pymt.). I really don't want to get ripped a new one on this car. Seems like I always get a crappy deal at new car dealers. Also, what is your opinion of leasing used cars? I was looking at this 99 TL and it had 35k on it, might be a good car to lease.

Any input is appreciated.

Leasing a used car does not make any sense....there is almost no residual value....you can always lease a new car for less than a used one.... I know cuz I used to sell cars for Honda. Rick Case Acura here in Ft. Lauderdale has a 2002 TL(non type-s) lease for $269 for 39mo. with $5000 due at signing.........that is not a good lease for the simple fact your putting $5000 into a lease which you will never get back. A good lease for the base TL should probably be about $350 for 36mo. with $1500 or $2000 due at signing. This should be attainable if you know how to negotiate and get a salesperson who is pretty new in the business. Hope this helps.

Wow, thanks for the quick responses. $350/month is a lot cheaper than I thought. How much more would I have to tack on there to get a type S? What's the difference in the 0-60 times on these cars? Not sure if I need the Type S yet.

type s is only 2k over the non type s, so i don't think you will pay a lot more.

For the type-s the payment would probably go up about $50-$75 per month with the same lease terms. Generally with a lease every thousand dollars usually equals out to $25-$30 dollars per month. So if $350 is base than about $410 would be type-s.
