Lease return with AHFC
Lease return with AHFC
Since my lease is up in another 6 mos. I was wondering how the lease return experience is? I will hopefully be within mileage. Do they nitpick about every little thing or are they a bit generous? What about tire wear? TIA.
Did you lease the car through a leasing company (bank) or thourgh acura? usually if u lease through the car maker, they are more generous because they understrand that it is impssible to own a car for like 4 years and not get a door ding, or a scratch. This is what my BMW dealership told me, so im not sure about acrua but i would imagine its similar.
Whichever company you went through, they should've sent you a leasee's package, including the rules and allowances.
Off the top of my head, the tires must have more than 40% of its tread, no door dings bigger than the size they specify (they must have sent you a little ruler thingy with circles cut out in it), and scratches can't be longer than 3 inches or something.
That's all I can remember.
Bottom line, if it's normal wear and tear, you have nothing to worry about it. If they give you **** for stupid things, just explain to them that you paid for the 4 years' (or however long your lease term was) use of the car, and it's impossible to keep it scratch-free.

Well, I've never leased a car before but I thought I'd heard that you could take your leased car in early just to get it inspected in advance. That way, you'd have time to correct anything they pointed out to ya.
Might be worth asking 'em about that.

i know mercedes credit has what's called the "credit card" rule...If the damage or blemish can be covered up by a credit card, then everything's fine, no charge. But I'm sure Honda has their own way of measuring damage....You think owner's link would have that info?
