Langka?

Langka?
I tried 4 times already to remove the blob on my touched up scratches on the Miata...First three times, I waited the 90 minutes that they suggest to wait. Every time I tried to remove the blob around the scratch, the paint would come out of the scratch too.. Someone on the board with experience with Langka suggested I let the touch-up paint dry for 2 days, which is what I did, and still, no positive results..Not only did it remove the paint around and in the scratch, but it also removed the pinstripe I had on the car! I had a silvery-white pinstripe running from front to back of the car, and then this nasty aqua green scribbly pinstripe in the center of each doors... On a good note, I finally figured out how to remove the nasty aqua pinstripe, but I wanted to keep the silvery-white one...oh well.. I ended up Langka-ing the pinstripe all around the car and it came off like nothing...so now the car's pinstripe-free! I don't know if I should be happy or sad...

Hey Ed, I also have Langka. I tried it once a few weeks ago but nothing happens. I don't know if I did it right or the shit is not working. But I met j83 at the Park Ave Acura meet and he said that Langka really works. He showed me the spot where he used Langka and the blob was not there. So I am going to try again and if it fails then I am going to take it to his house for him to do it for me.

Maybe the whole paint comes off because you didn't clean the area thoroughly before applying the paint? I was gonna buy lanka...cause I got a few dings too...hmmm. Anyway...try wiping the area clean with some alcohol first...and put some primer too

Langka does work. The key is to really clean the chip well. I use paint cleaner, but I guess you could use rubbing alcohol.
Make sure the crack is free of any loose paint. Take a pin and pick away at any loose paint. Small chips are hard to do. Sometimes I make the chip larger so the paint has something to hold on to.
Let the touch-up paint dry pretty well. Use VERY LIGHT PRESSURE on the Langka when you rub. Too much pressure and you'll remove all the paint.

Only got exp. Langka is not perfect , but it sure as hell beats having blobs on your car.
may be it just works good w/ my white paint.

I got these instructions from their website - you may already know this but just in case.
STEP 1: Wash and dry your vehicle. Clean chips with rubbing alcohol.
STEP 2: Use a toothpick, matchstick or brush to apply manufacturers touch-up paint to the chip. Allow it to dry to the touch — typically 45-90 minutes. This will leave the typical "blob" of touch-up paint visible. Apply 2nd or 3rd coat if necessary.
STEP 3: Wrap a smooth, clean, tightly woven cotton cloth around the enclosed "buffing card". SHAKE WELL and apply LANGKA generously to the flat surface. Rub LANGKA over the "blob" for 15-30 seconds allowing LANGKA to quickly penetrate and begin smoothing the "blob" of excess paint. Once the touch-up paint blob begins to wear off, begin rubbing lighter until the excess paint is gone and paint is left inside the chip/scratch. Lightly hand-buff to remove any excess LANGKA with a clean cloth.
