Angry lame attempt for city to make money!

This is pissing me off! This is the second weekend in a row that a cop gave me a ticket for my tinted windows. Get this though, both times I wasn't in the car. They gave me a ticket overnight while my car was parked on the street. Since I go down to the city every weekend parked around the same area, I can't keep on receiving these damn tickets! I don't want to peel my tint off either. Just wanted to vent!

Hey Axleback-

Where did you get your windows tinted? I am trying to find a spot to tint mine. I can help piss off the cops with you-

Just a suggestion- I plan to consult a friend of mine who is a optrician and have a doctors note written. If I get pulled over I hand them the note saying I have a retna disfunction with glare-

If can most likely set you up after I see this guy-

Imagine getting pulled- 'Did you know tinted windows are illegal", Take a look at this jagoff-

:wow:

Oh man, that would be awesome. As a matter of fact, a friend of mine just told me about your plan last night. It would be great if you can hook me up with that little stunt.

I got mine tinted from a place I found on the net. Cost was $170 with lifetime warranty. He's located in Grayslake. Probably alittle too far for you though. However, I went to this place down by South Loop to get my gf's Accord windows tinted a few weeks ago and they did a really good job too (especially around the dot matrix area). If you want, I can give you the phone number.

I already thought about that. My friend says if I receive a ticket while I'm not in the car, I can request for a court date and present the doctor's statement to the judge and he'll waive the ticket. Could be time consuming but I still think it's worth it than to have my nice tint peeled off.

Check your state laws, some states still don't allow it even if you have a medical condition.

Thats a good point with the state laws- but why do they tint the windows on the state troopers police dog vehicles- ultimately to blind the dog from people outside the vehicle teasing it and so forth- same concept-

As for the doctors note it works day or night - tint cant be removed at night just to please the police- after all they cant harass you for light tint suce as 35% if my memory serves me correct-

Remember Jim Mcmahon of the Bears - He wore tint on his helmet not to look cool but because he has a vision problem- All his cars are tinted - He lives by my mom in Northbrook IL

I'll keep you posted Axelback

Don't the cops have to use a meter to measure the tint? The 1 ticket I got that's what they did. It fits over your window. Your windows were closed right?

No. Here in Illinois, absolutely no tint is allowed for the front two windows...doesn't matter what grade.

You dont need to even go to court, just mail a copy of the ticket with a photocopy of your doc's letter and all should be fine.

Mail a copy may not work here in IL- Our outdated data entry systems suck in Springfield- They may take the doctors note but not update the database and if he gets stopped again it may come up as a warrant or failure to comply-

Take care of this crap in person
