I know this wasn't really fair, but it was fun.

The wife and I were out crusing last night, headed over to her sister's. I had just given her a first sample of VTEC music, which, somewhat to my surprise, brought a smile to her face.

Anyway, we're rolling along chatting, and I'm in the left lane easing past a white 325i at between 65 and 70; didn't really pay any attention to it. I couldn't have been more than 3/4 of a car length by when this young guy driving the bimmer thought he'd flex his bavarian muscles. He immediately pulls even with me, my wife and I look over, and he looks back. Then his car lurches a bit (must have dropped it to third) and he starts pullin' on me.

I glanced at the wife while I was pulling the shifter into SS, and said "This guys's gotta be kiddin' me." I dropped to third and unleashed the VTEC a second time for my wife. The bimmer? Faded like he was hauling a load of bricks. Went ahead and shifted to 4th at about 90 and let off. The little white car stayed a respectable distance behind me until he exited.

The wife looks at me and says: "Kids these days! "

Thank god my wife is cool with me racing because she gets a rush out of it too. Though she is too frighten to say anything WHILE I'm racing but once I beat the other car (usually up to 120 mph) and starts slowing down will she be able to talk to me again. But then some other days she would complained about me racing.
Women, can never understand them.

NICE!! Good run. I can't ever race when a girl is in the car, they always freak out. You have a good woman there, I envy you.

Lucky man!! I'm not saying that I'm racing everyday or trying to., but even when I just press the gas slightly more, I can hear this... "Slow down, you are not on race truck, you idiot, you will kill us" and **** like that. That's why, she drives alone now. I'm single!!!!

Funny thing is, she used to tell me to slow down for fear that I'd hit a deer (or some other pesky critter lookin' to be roadkill).

Hmm, maybe it's the superior coverage and throw of the HIDs that makes her more comfortable. On the other hand, maybe she just likes the sound and feel of 6500+ rpm of VTEC power. I know I do.
