I was in your same boat when I was at that age. I swore my parents were out to get me with all the rules and regulations but honestly, they're not that bad. Respect them and they will respect you.

Why does it feel like this is something you have been doing and finally got caught?

In California- it would be your ass, with a permit you must have someone 25 or older in the front seat- plus rules about other minors in the car with you, no driving after 11pm and much more.

Dad has an anger prob because you pull stunts like this where HIS liabilty for your actions is totally at stake and you violate his trust in letting you get a nice car

Until your 18 and legal to screw yourself- keep walking until you reach the racetrack and get some driving lessons and sense of obeying the law- cops dont like juveniles running around thinking they are invincable and above it all- that turns into a street race which ends in death of innocent bystander which leads back to your DAD and LIABILTY for your actions.
The life he saved may be yours

Yea im sure that will work well. He lives under THEIR roof, and is still a minor. Him making the payments doesnt mean squat. He has to live with their rules

Hmm, well lets see I had my permit since 16 got my license around 16 or 17 and finally got a car at 23. So if you think of this way just waiting a year or two isnt so bad compared to the 7 years I had to wait. I guess after reading all these posts you understand it isnt so bad what your parents did. Atleast you have the car.

And that was the only time you've driven the car? Yea, sure.

This fool's lucky his parents aren't like mine. He'd still be walking. and slapping Honda logos on his Huffy. Anyways, a good way to drive is assume everybody else on the road is an idiot. Which means you have to be ready for anything. You'll come to realize that this idea isn't that far from the truth. You'd be surprised at how many morons are given a license. Some of them shouldn't leave the house without a helmet.

i was in the same boat as you last summer, only when i snuk out i got pulled over and got 2 tickets. 1 for being out after midnight with a permit, and second for haveing to many people in the car with a permit. ended up at the local police station because they wouldnt let me back on the road because after midnight i techinly didnt have a licence (permit), my parents ended up picking me and my freinds up from the PD at 3am i learned my lesson, and never went out that late with only a permit again. and those tickets werent cheap either.

I never drove alone with a permit, why risk it when youve waited like 16-17 years to get a license. Its only a few more months then drive all you want.

My lil bro is in the same position and I keep telling him "HELL NO!!!" haha It's for his own good and my protection too. I'll just take his cry baby bullshit for now. My cuzzin on the other hand got a ticket for driving without anything and now has to wait till he's 18 to get a license. He just turned 16 and has an exspensive ticket to pay...

This is like driving on a suspended license due to drunk driving- ala Miss Hilton

We have all given the OP a mindful- lets hope that other young drivers
think and stop before they get behind the wheel with a permit or
any type substance in their system

In flying there is an actual rule- often violated by airline pilots!
8 hours from bottle to throttle

I didn't know Acurazine has become a blog. I'll join in.

8:55am
Today I woke up more sleepy than usual. I had a muffin. I was out of the house by 7. The neighbor was outside with his kids again. That guy is always outside with his kids. I sure could use another cup of coffee.
