I don't have that problem, but someone I know do. They took it to the dealer and have it fixed. The problem they said was signal interference.

I did. 2 times to Acura of North Toronto. They gave me a new set of remotes, but the problem is still there. I think that i will take it to Downtown Acura this time.

personally I think that Acura of North Toronto sucks. I have heard that they often do nothing and claming that they did something to fix people's car. Down Town acura on the other hand is a bit better, but if you want to have done right the first time, ask them to let you watch what they do!! This way you get to learn things as well as things been fixed the first time.

hope this helped you

Its a problem with interference. I know people in NYC that have to click their alarm button all around their car until they find a spot that works. Only happens in the city.

It sucks! I have an aftermarket alarm. I park in front of my house, under some power wires. Have to get right up to the driver side door before it works. Pisses me off because remote start becomes a lot less useful. ANYWHERE else besides directly in front of my house the alarm remote works fine. NEVER had a problem anywhere else.

Anyone have a solution?

Okay for people who are in the Toronto area. I just want to say that Downtown Acura sucks... and of course Acura of North Toronto ain't that good either...

I went to service my car with my friends. They drive Toyota, Lexus, BMW, and one guy got an Audi. Honestly they got better services. Okay, maybe they paid more for their car, but still....

I've only been to Acura of North Toronto once. I didn't like it, and I will NEVER go to Downtown Acura again.

I really don't know where can I get better services for my car and I do feel VERY help less. God damn it at lesat it's a CA$ 40k car. Can't believe that they treat me like I drive a Kia or something....

Well just had to vent, and to share the info with you all. I heard that all the Acura dealers have bad services....

Climb up the pole and cut down the power line. That should take care of your problem

just kidding guys!!! I dont want to hear on the news someone got shocked climbing up the electrical pole.

Same thing in downtown Chicago...I live in the suburbs and have no problems, but everytime I go downtown I have to hold the lock/unlock button for about 2 or 3 seconds right next to the driver's window for it to work.

hmm.. never had a problem with my 97TL in downtown... even with my old keyless before i got the aftermarket Clifford system... i also use keyless for my 99 odyssey and it works perfect downtown....
here's a stupid trick to try by the way, if you're too far from your car to make the keyless thing work... but the sensor of the keyless right up against your throat (or voicebox)and start pressing... it always works for me.. hehehe

I have only encountered that problem right next to Skydome, both with my stock TL and my Accord with Avital alarm. The interference must be pretty strong, since I can stand right next to my window, pressing like a madman, and nothing would happen even though I'm in a fairly open area beside Spadina. Probably the broadcasting equipment at Skydome.

Where else in downtown Toronto have others had this problem?

This kind of thing happened to me when I left the US for 3 weeks. When I got back here I couldn't open my car for around 3 minutes , press my remote couple times , banged it , but suddenly it just worked and after that such thing didn't happen again , anybody has the same problem ? what do u think might cause this , there's no interference or anything i guess , because it happened in my apartment's garage lot.

I guess its just life. I once read the little fine print and according to the FCC, all devices must accept any interference. Or some shat.

wng: Radio and TV are broadcasting at the top of CN tower, which is just next to Skydome. Imagine the interference that come from all these antenna.

UltraPon99TL, I'm not too sure about the CN Tower giving interference, even though that was the first thing I thought. I've parked on Front Street by the Metro. Conv. Centre and the South parking lots of the MTCC without any problems. Only when I'm between Skydome and Spadina do I have problems.

The CN Tower's antennae is so tall, you would think if it would interfere, it would interfere over a larger area. However, my problems are localized to a few hundred square metres.

I get the same thing with my Accord downtown Toronto and sometimes in my underground parkinglot @ work in Mississauga. I also know a guy with a Dodge Durango that the alarm system never works downtown Toronto. I know, bad comparison, as most Chryslers are shit. When you have this problem you just have to break down and use the key like you used to prior to having a key fob.
