is it possible to prolong the key hole light duration? That damn thing goes out so fast like this is the energy crisis.

If you can find the power wire for it you can add a resister and capacitor in parallel to prolong the key hole light duration. the equation is (Time Constant) = 1/ (Resistor*Capacitor)

You having some problems finding the hole?? They should prolong the light, but usually I don't have a problem finding it.

Your dome light stays on for a while before your key hole light goes out.

I guess I am not the only one who has this problem. It would be nice if it was longer, however rewiring is not going to happen here, at least not for that.

No problem with finding the hole you are referring to But the dome light also dims quickly and the steering wheel is blocking the way I see the ignition. I really wish they had the ignition located on the dash like Merc.

If rewiring is your option, you should think about rewiring the map lights. I'm sure there's a way so that the map lights can come on with the dome light, this way it will stay on for a while til you find the key hole. Anyway, just a thought........

The keyhole light is an SMT LED. I wouldn't want to try to mess with that circuitry, its right next to the key sensor.

Hey ABDomega...

It's one of my favorite parts.
