Karma is a bitch...
Driving to work today in my TL and whilst on the highway some dumb fucker in a TL and donks drives up next to me and starts staring me down.
Now the TL isn't the fastest car, but I was probably 100 pounds lighter because I didn't have donks. I speed up, he speeds up, I look him down and think that its not worth it to get pulled over or anything so I start to let him pass and get his cheap thrill.
THEN I say fuck it and blast off at around 95, he's surprised and he tries to give a complementary reaction and in turn runs head on into the big barrels where the road guards meet.
I think he's fine because it hit his passenger side, but still karma's a bitch no?

Maybe, but I was driving at my own pace minding my own business and sped away from him. Its his fault he thought he could switch lanes and go very fast when he ruined the handling on his car.
i mean it was about as high as my X5 is

i've never heard it myself either, but from context clues i assume they are ridiculous sized wheels
OP hopefully you don't have the PD looking for you or anything. i'm no law expert but what if the guy reported to the police he was racing, they might come looking for the other guy???

then the picture
a donk is basically when the wheels are too large for the car, that you actually gotta lift it up to actually make them fit

You know if he had hit another vehicle or injured someone just because you guys were racing on the Interstate you guys would be subject to a criminal offense resulting in death or injury to innocent lives.
Now I'm not here to school you or anything just think twice before doing stuff like this, I learned the hard way when 2 of my friends were racing on 401 one of them in a G35 the other a 530i, The G35 lost control on the shoulder spun out hit 8 cars in a chain reaction, he was in coma along with 6 other innocent lives that were injured the accident. The guy in the 530 got off clean and booted him home, he was picked up a couple of hours later by the OPP (state police) and charged with Fleeing the scene, hit and run, and also reckless driving. They were doing about 100mph which is almost as fast as you were going. Not to mention they spent some time in jail, vehicle seizure, license suspension plus a whole bunch of other shit that ruined their lives over something so stupid.
Just take this story as an experience, You should be lucky that other dude didn't hit another car and take innocent lives because of your stupidities because YOU would have been in serious shit just as much as him.

I appreciate the concern from everyone, but I fail to see how I am an accessory to this particular case (I'm studying for the bar so I do know a few things).
Reviewing the Transportation law, all i'm seeing is a very vague definition of street racing here. I have friends who do it, and I always tell them to be careful because it's serious shit to get caught with, it involves jail time and impounding of your vehicle in NYS.
If all I did was speed away from him, how is my action considered racing? he changed lanes and lost control of his car, thus causing his accident. By the time he crashed, I could only see it barely in my rearview mirrors. The highway was pretty empty and that was that.
I'll be careful to note what you guys said in the future, but it seems more open to officer interpretation than anything else. Me going 85 on the highway (which is pretty standard up here) driving by myself could be considered street racing, if my car bears the "signs of a modified vehicle". So I mean does my blacked out tailights signify me as a street racer? I'd sure hope not. Either way, they'd have a tough time proving anything in court about my involvement of said accident.
oh, and barriers here are full of sand. so sorry, no water explosion

you already admitted to "blasting off" at 95 mph as he was toying with you. as somebody who is studying to become a lawyer, i dont see how you cant find that an accessory to the situation.
whether or not somebody can prove it and whether you were part of the cause are two totally different discussions.
neither of you followed the law. if a cop witnessed the situation, im sure he wouldnt go for the "i was trying to get away from him" story.
Said driver sounds like a jackass, but i dont think he got what he deserved.. a ticket or revoking of license sounds like a better punishment to me then a high speed crash...

then also you should know too, how bogus some cases are, cause people are greedy (mainly), or just plain old sue happy, and that some lawyers will still take the case, and actually win it, even though there is no merit to the actual case itself

who controls your actions? you were at fault as well and I believe 99% of all courts in this country today would agree if it got that far.
karma is a bitch and she'll get her revenge on you as well for being a douche bag and coming to the forums to brag about this story.

i like how this funny story turned into an online court session.. fly by's in Richmond are considered racing but him crashing into the barrels in my opinion is hilarious and i bet he felt stupid after it.
To the OP, i get where u were going. you wanted to tell a funny story.. i got a good laugh out of it while sitting in class, thanx!!

yeah you guys are a little more laid back. Though I was a member of the forums maybe 5/6 years ago before I could drive (because we owned a TL lol) I can't remember the login for shit anymore, but I remember people talking about how fast their cars were all the time :-p
and yeah, that's a fun section haha

He deserved it for the donks, seriously I thought that culture died out in the early mid 00s. I mean 18-19 even 20 is nice on some cars but anything bigger and it just looks BAD

of course the people in the racing sub-forum are going to have stories of racing... still does not mean the 2G section cares...
ps. there are about 10 people that spend their time in the racing forum.. out of the thousands on acurazine...
