Kakimoto-R bolt-on Exhaust on TL-S Picture/Video
The Picture of TL 's Kakimoto exhaust has been modified to extend an inch out under customer's preference to match the Factory kit.
I also included a Sound Video Clip of it.

I 'll try to get pic with stock bumpers,
but with out extending the pipe, it just look like the stock muffler which is an inch inside, not as stick out as the picture up there.
Yes, unfortunately BoomPlusToys is located in Vancouver, but they do ship anywhere in North America. They are the only Authorized North America Kakimoto Racing Distributor.

I like your exhaust man. That this looks kind big though from close up but once the picture is far away then it looks clean. Do they have a shinner type?? looks kinda dull. Oh well, LIKE IT LOTS!!! too bad its 4 inch diameter. Not legal in CA. Like the sound too.

AZN G RYDE : thnx
yah I think its because of dirty, you mean Chrome type? yah need some cleaning to do.
4 inches outer tip, but 2.5-2.75 inches inner tip muffler.
so it should be legal.

juniorbean : yup, you are right about sticking out, the owner ask for it, so we did some modification, normally, its at stock location.
they don't look big at all, its only 4inches tip 2.5inches inner tip, pipe , Comptech 's is 3.5inches .
basically you don't loose low end torque, and kept the Sound !!

why you want to race? j/k
0-100km, My Butt Dyno, lol
I don't think I can ever go into 13s without NOS or SC.
and nice car you got there =)

I dunno about most of you guys, but I agree with juniorbean, those tips are just way too big!
4" is a huge tip for the TL, you won't see any benefit from a larger exhaust.
The Comptech exhaust looks clean and proportional, and in any event, I would not go with a set up that is not bolt-on or made specifically to fit the car.
RDX, how does the setup work? After the stock mufflers are removed are the Kakimoto's flanged and fit direct onto the stock Y-pipe flanges?

That exhaust looks tight. I recently bought a pair of tailpipes from a company called F1-x SPORTLINE. I was worrying about getting a 3.5 inch, but the person who picked them up for me got a 4. I thought it would look huge and ricey, no way. The tips make the car look really tough and sporty IMO. I didnt have the $ for a full exhaust because I just bought a body kit so I figure a good quality tailpipe is the next best thing. I will try and post some pictures one day and you guys can see if you like em or call me a ricer!

IMO, Comptech is way too small. the muffler is too flat out When you look from the back, it looks weird. Personally I have them, I love the sounds, after I saw the Kakimoto, I am changing it for sure.
InspireS : you are true about low end lost with huge exhaust,
but check out the picture, the inner tube is only 2.5inches , theouter tip is 4inches. honestly I do not feel any torque lost.
Yes, this Kakimoto is complete bolt-on Axle-back, it was design for Inspire/saber.

bricot: I don't know the U.S. pricing, but email to info@boomplustoys.net
In an accord coupe interior, Comptech has these low vroom sounds at around 2500rpm.
Kakimoto in a TL, barely hear any sound inside , no audio on, I wondered if TL has much more sound deadening materal than the accord.
personally IMO , I would suggest them over Comptech, thats why I am switching to it.

I doubt there is a significant amount of additional sound deadening material in the TL's. The most prevelant complaint with the competchs is interior noise, some say there is an annoying drone at highways speed, etc.
So if you aren't getting any of that type of noise, sounds like it may be a good choice, although I would prefer a little smaller tip.
Whats the model number you friend had put on?

UA-4,5 are the second generation Honda Inspire codes for the cars given by Honda. The reason I mentioned it I didn't see them listed in the Honda section of the Kakimoto type R or any other mufflers. Maybe they just came out with it??? But I hope this is a new trend in aftermarket support for our cars in Japan.

Its an axle-back, these exhaust has been design and tune for Japanese Inspire, to make sure power gain and no lost, kept the sedan characteristic.
valuetl:I think its on their site under the inspire name.
