K & N filters
I have a 2000 TL- totally stock- I was wondering if anyone has used an aftermarket air filter, such as the K&N brand and if they've experienced a substantial (noticeable) increase in power/ MPG. I'm sure there are posts regarding this topic in the past, but the seach engine of this site doesn't allow abbreviations, like K & N. Also, I checked out the K&N website, but there are no listed internet distributors that sell the filters for the 2000 TL. Please let me know what kind of results you got. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have one setup "icebox" style with a K&N in there, and I'm very happy with the setup. As for power gains, nothing you are really gonna feel, but it might be good for 1 or 2 horses, but it's really hard to tell without dyno testing it. Either way, for $45, it's nice to not have to buy new air filters every 15k, or whatever schedule they recommend.

I had a K&N stock size air filter. I changed it to a short air ram. On the K&N stock air filter I did not notice any increased breath-ability in the engine. The short air ram (cone air filter) I did notice a stronger 'wheezing' when I get on the on ramp. Let me know if you need a slightly used K&N air filter. It is good for 1,000,000 miles

I have a K&N drop-in air filter in my '00 Accord and a Comptech drop-in air filter in my '03 TL. I don't notice any power difference between them and the stock air filters. I don't really keep track of my gas mileage, but I think I might be getting slightly better gas mileage. I bought them mainly because I like the fact that they are reusable and will save me money in the long run. Stock air filters costs around $15 each and you gotta replace them every 15,000 miles.

I've got a stock replacement K&N for my 94' Talon ES. When i bought the car new the window sticker said it got 22 city and 29 highway. With the Borla cat-back exhaust, K&N and porting the stock exhaust manifold, on a good day, that ^&*&% thing will get upwards of 40 mpg on the highway at 80mph. (Auto trans.)

I have a K&N filter in my '02. When I bought it over a year ago, I posted the change in my mileage. It increased about 3%. Now I am getting 30+ mpg on long freeway trips. With premium gas so expensive nowadays, ANY efficiency is appreciated. I don't know whether there is any change in power with this filter, I've not done a dyno. I do notice a deeper growl when I'm accelerating on the freeway than before.
