I did this mod about 2 weeks ago and I kicked myself for not doing it earlier... the sound you get when the engine hits the VTEC is nasty, plus I feel it pulls a little more....
I have had the K&N air filter in for a while longer but doing these both at the same time will definately make you feel some difference.

does anyone have any pics of what the setup looks like after you install the k&n filter? is it the cone type filter that you attatch to the end of the hose? or is it a drop in filter of some sort? thanx!

No cone at all. You buy a K&N fliter that goes directly into the stock airbox. Basically your are replacing the stock air filter with a higher quality, re-useable (washable) K&N filter. So it is an exact replacement for the stock one and you rwon't be able to see any difference looking at your engine, because the filter is in the sealed airbox.
The resinator fills the gap below the front headlight (driverside), so to get to it you will have to remove the bumper and when the bumper is put back on there is no visual difference so a picture would be pointless.
To replace the filter just get a philips driver or an 8mm socket and there is four bolts on the four corners of the airbox cover and viola....pull out the old one and drop in a new one.......simple as that

Hey, if I wanted to remove the resonator to see what it's like, can I just leave the stock air filter in there? Or will it damage? Does it HAVE to be the K&N filter or equivalent? I would very much like to go home after work today and since its so nice, take the time to remove my resonator...but I don't think I'll have the time to run out and get the K&N filter til this weekend...so would it be a bad idea to drive it around for a few days without the resonator and just a stock filter? Thanx for bearing with me guys!

just get a friend to do it, it doesnt require any heavy lifting or pulling. I mean my 120 pound mom could easily do it if I was there telling here what to do. The bumper probably weighs 7 pounds or so cause its plastic, I dont know how bad you are hurt so I dont want to be rude, but its real easy.
In other words dont pay someone to do it!!!! just get a bud to help if you need to, difficulty is probably a 2 out of 10.

i was thinking of removing the resonator as well. I just want to make sure. Are the resonators these boxes that are in between our pipes that goes from the exhaust all the way to the engine? If it is, once taking out what replaces it because wouldn't there be a gap now that the resonators are removed? This info would be a real help..

K&N and remove the resonator was my method. Il bet it works as well or better that any other set-up out there, and cost was $40 some bucks for the filter. Sounds good not too loud and car pulls harder.

but yes, if you remove the exhaust resonators you have to replace the empty spot with new pipe.
